Default Is Churn Crackdown Coming Frem Streaming Services?

Less Content
Stuff being pulled.
Price Increases
Password Sharing crackdowns

Is the next thing coming, the end of Churning?Signing up for a streamer for a short period to watch the content you are interested in and then canceling.

On the john Campea Show today with guest Robert Meyer Burnett
. One of the topics was if Mandatory Annual Contracts were coming.

No more signing up for a month or two to watch Stranger Things or the latest Star Wars or Marvel show and then dropping the streamer.Forced commitment for a long term period to a streamer whether it currently has stuff you want to watch going or not.

I can certainly buy this coming. Hey can't like the idea of not having people locked in long term to a streamer.

I like having yearly subscriptions for Disney + and Max since I use them so much. But I churn with Netflix and Amazon Prime. I wait for a buildup of content and then buy a gift card to cover a month or two and watch all the content i wanted to see. Then I'm good for another 8 months to a year.So I wouldn't like this sort of crackdown at all. But I understand it from their POV.

They will test the waters for sure. I also believe they will release content weekly rather than all at once. If there is less content, it makes perfect sense. Also, cliffhangers will draw audiences in for those adverts. Maybe have a series debut or finale on specified day.

Regardless, thank goodness I have so many discs to enjoy, I don’t like a pure streaming/digital world.

I am surprised they haven't done it already. Prices can only keep rising so much before, as a business, they will need to find other methods of keeping revenue rising beyond just monthly prices.

This. The latest Netflix price increase putting the top tier over $20 a month is going to lose a lot of subscribers.
