Language is slippery these days. Just slap the word classic on things and catch out the uninformed. To be fair we've not yet seen the blurb on these recent announcements.

Wish the prices weren't hitting close to £20 a release for those.

Samurai Wolf looks interesting, I didn't know it was black and white - I guess I was expecting a Lone Wolf and Cub kind of thing with OTT blood

3 months since Pandoras Box announcement, the last proper MoC release. Nothing coming from Arrow these days. So why is my wallet still empty? what happened to the supposed savings?

I’ve never seen any of them, but am more than happy to discover new Asian stuff, particularly the Samurai Wolf films, which look rather cool.
Angela Mao kicking more ass is always good, and whilst I’m not much of a Jet Li fan, I’ll more than likely go for that one too.

Perhaps those disappointed with this month’s announcements will be happier next month…

Not knocking the bundle, but the £3 saving isn't exactly enticing.

was thinking the same thing. I always appreciate a discount but that is literally one pound savings per movie. little enticement for me unless I was really dead-set on getting all 3 anyhow.

Bundle is OK for those who would get all 3 anyway. Little saving is better than no savings.

Will ignore WTS and get other 2. Changed mind about Samurai Wold after viewed trailer.

Angela Mao movie is good but used to own legendary collection dvd and watched it enough back then. Not a movie I need to own anymore even on HD.

Preview footage from Brandon Bentley showing that The Best of the Martial Arts Films on When Taekwondo Strikes has been updated to include remastered footage as well as the correct aspect ratio for all previously cropped movies. The vinegar syndrome edition just used upscales or bad HD transfers.

I'm liking those covers more and more if not the films contained within.

Covers look great!

I definitely want Samurai Wolf I & II. I'm leaning towards getting the other two as I have the Angela Mao set (although as yet unopened), and am thinking about getting the Jet Li set too. Although not 100% yet. Oh also Wong Jing, really enjoyed Hard Boiled 2 so also intrigued by that too. However I did see a review saying it was part of a series or something, not too sure.

I definitely want both the other two December titles, so need to decide, although as others have mentioned the bundle discount isn't really tempting me!

Frustratingly the password reset on Eureka's website is completely useless and I am now locked out of my account.

Would be good to hear from some people that have seen any of the Dec/Jan titles. Having said that I have been blind buying a tonne

getting the Samurai Wolf double bill as I saw Samurai Wolf I a while ago and really enjoyed it, almost felt like a Japanese spaghetti western at times. really hope this is just the start for Gosha films getting released.

Super happy about more Gosha, it's felt a long time coming. Definite pre-order.

The Samurai Wolf films are pretty good. Mid level Gosha, but mid level Gosha is still damn great overall.

For me the slack has been taken up by Radiance and, in France, Gaumont, Pathé, Elephant and Carlotta.

I miss the old Masters of Cinema, but it seems HK auctioneers pay the bills and have devoted fans. And we still get the odd goodie every couple of months such as the Zulawski set, 3 Ages, Son of the White Mare….

Went for the bundle. I already have the U.S. release of Samurai Wolf but I like supporting Eureka.

Question

wonder if they still have rights to Shogun Assassin
would love new 2k remaster or 4k

the original release's they did, most of the stock got destroyed in London Riots
so hard to get now, & expensive
though luckily I got SB (& I have the Criterion Lone Wolf set)
would love an upgrade though

If I pre-order some December titles and January titles on the same transaction, I would assume they get held back and all shipped in Jan?

Given it is free delivery should I be better to order separately then the Dec stuff will ship in Dec and the Jan stuff in Jan? Is that how it works?

Yup

So, the best way I can put it is that any of the previously remastered 1.85 films will now retain that ratio and in true HD. China O'Brien is a weird outlier, as I believe it *should* be 1.85, but unfortunately we didn't have access to those clips in true HD *and* 1.85. So at least those clips will be in HD, even if the 2.35 ratio may be incorrect.

Definitely no fault on Vinegar Syndrome's part on the Righting Wrongs bonus disc, but rather just being all they had access to at the time. And it goes without saying the virtually all of the 2.35 footage will be in true HD as well (with literally one under-one-minute exception that we couldn't source).

Also, the audio is no longer the "muffled PAL-pitched" version that was attached to the master, so there's that as well.
