Ecchi Anime - Blu-ray Forum

Since there is a section for Hentei then why not just Ecchi anime.

So this one will focus on Ecchi anime both just to talk about and release info.

Anime that come to mind would be Cat Planet Cuties, Cutey Honey(some versions), Devil Hunter Yohko, Golden Boy, High School DxD, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, Immoral Guild, Legend of Lemnear, Manyuu Hiken-Cho(why no US blu ray release?), Monster Musume(why no season 2?), Peter Grill, Plastic Little, Queen's Blade, Qwaser of Stigma, Valkyrie Drive Mermaid, etc.

There are anime that might fit in ether category....would you classify Interspecies Reviewer as Ecchi or full on Hentei?

That's so funny. I was thinking about this all day yesterday on here.

I don't watch any Hentai, but I love Ecchi. Sometimes the buildup and tension, or the tease of sexuality is more alluring than the act. Just like how most people (or anime characters) often look hotter just before they get completely naked. It's the allure of the possibility. It's about permission, and the conquest.

If what I wanted was full on penetration then there no shortage of streaming pron you can go watch instead. I don't need to see a dumbed down, undetailed cartoon facsimile of it, with really obnoxious voice work and screaming.

What makes ecchi legit are the character's personalities, the sultry and inviting voice actors, tantalizing character designs, and frankly a little modesty (or conservation) of the characters themselves. A lot of people prefer the 'girl next door' character, somewhat more wholesome, not the one who gets passed around and used like the town bicycle. Ever seen Chainsaw Man episode 5 ?? Oh yeah, that's when the series really takes an engaging turn.

It's a LOT of the cover art in our industry, however most of them are not accurately representing the show's content. They want to tease but there's nothing there. Kind of a like a lot of people in the real world whom dress that way and then act like they're not doing anything for attention.

So I wanted to start a thread yesterday on what are the best ecchi anime shows that you can recommend? Lots of shows have teasing. But there really isn't a whole lot of them available on the more extreme end of things. Some of my favorites include: No Game, No Life, Konosuba, High School DxD. Mushokou Tensei is another recent example of some really good implementation, although s2 has terrible candor with that one main plot point...

Most ecchi is really light. It seems to have a hard time crossing over into more mature situations without getting straight up slapstick silly like High School DxD and Peter Grill.

The hentai thread mainly exists so if someone specifically wants to know what animated porn is coming out, they can go there, and if someone doesn't want to see what animated porn is coming out, they can continue to not see it in the sticky threads. The releases were almost never mentioned there, so I felt a dedicated thread was needed despite how few of releases per year there are currently when you don't count the Adult Source Media sex scene compilation DVDs.

BigOnAnime, I would like to have this thread also be a place to announce new releases but also want to talk about all ecchi anime regardless if they have been released or not.

Too be honest most Hentei just don't interest me. Usually the Ecchi ones have better characters, stories, animation, etc.

I can contribute two titles I really like.
Both focus mostly on panty shots. Not a surprise considering they where done by the same director.
They are Agent Aika and Najica Blitz tactics
They both have an awe inspiring amount of panty shots, but I kid you not, still have pretty decent stories to boot.
Aika plays it's self out as a very tounge and cheek james bond-esque type save the world parody.
And Najica is also a kind of spy/La femme Nikita show, and actually took me by surprise with how it attempted to be a bit deep.
Both are sadly out of print, but I think they're worth checking out any way you can.

Another show I just re-watched was Bikini Warriors.
It's a completely shamless Dragon Quest spoof, it's stupid, and brainless, but loved it regardless. Lot's of fluffly mindless cheesecake to enjoy. I makes me sad it never really took off.

And, if you're into "man service" I recommend: Samurai Jam Batsu Rock.
It's full of smexy-ass men, (NOT BOYS!) who rock so hard, their clothes explode off!

It's about how they use the power of rock to overthrow the shoganate. I love this so much I own both the DVD and Blu-ray. God mocks me by not letting this become a smash hit...

I really like the idea for this thread, one of the things that made me fall in love with anime is the ridiculous fan service. Some women get offended by it, I just find it funny with how over the top it gets.

My Dress Up Darling was bordering on being really good. But it never arrived, for me personally. It was just flirting with the idea. Kitagawa was constantly teasing him and undressing, while acting like she wasn't doing anything outside of normal behavior. and Gojou was so much of a dweeb and a celibate that he never acted upon any one of his multitude of opportunities, which was also a little hard to watch.

It was like a nerd fantasy of having access to the hot, popular girl, although she didn't mean it. Yeah, we sorta get there in the finish. But she was undressing in front of him in like episode 2. Seemingly just to hook the viewer.

They dance around the idea the entire season, and frankly for SoL that was a very poor representation of the way anything would EVER go down irl. It was kind of this weird double-edged nerd fantasy. Where the girl gets all the guy's attention, love, and time, without ever having to become intimate. And the guy gets the dating relationship, even though she's not his girl and he never gets a payoff. The show really seemed to be aimed towards all the folks whom struggled with relationships, and possibly graduated as virgins, but saw themselves as something different. I'm sure it struck a chord with many Gen-Z'ers too. In that so many people desire having more real meaningful friendships and relationships, but without needing to have any intimacy.

Many of the situations were pretty good. Another positive note is this show had more than normal, and they were in most episodes. I guess they couldn't corner themselves with no room for a S2 from having a climax in the end. That is one aspect that definitely does mirror real life lol.

Najica and Aika were my gateway ecchi series. Fond memories there.

Sekirei was a favorite (I read the manga entirely). Might be due for a rewatch there. I also really liked Rosario+Vampire.

Samurai Girls/Bride is a weird one for me. I really like the character designs and the outfits (pretty evident by my figure collection) but the show itself I would consider below average.

Yamada is another great one mentioned in here.

DXD is one I need to watch still, I have the first couple seasons on the shelf but never started.

Hell yeah brother!

ecchi elements are what really sets these shows apart from everything else out there.

Right now I'm going through all these big name 80's and 90's shows I've never seen before, and enjoying all the ecchi and pervy moments. Everything from Ranma 1/2 to even Dragonball. It's what really sets the medium apart. I'm getting lost in all these older shows I never saw as a kid, and searching for the very best 80's shows right now too. Kimagure Orange Road is top notch romance and SoL.

Yohko is great, but oh baby does the budget drop off a cliff at some point. Very noticeable unfortunately.

I for one am not very much into hentai for reasons I won't digress on. I love tits and ass but something left to one's imagination makes it more entertaining and interesting. For those who might not know 95% of japanese porn and hentai doujinshi has blurring, mosaics or some other form of censorship applied.

For Aika and Najica fans don't forget Aika r16, also Aika Zero (but never got a US release).
Also just search for anything directed by Hiraku Kaneko (or just has his involvement in any capacity), his boob shows are great Seikon no Qwazar and Manyuu Hikenchou (can't belive this never had a a US release) pretty much set the standard for animated boobs.

Prison School is not only great ecchi but great comedy.

The Devil Hunter Yohko OVA 2, 3, and especially 5 were better animated then the first one. 4 was just a collection of music videos and 6.....6 was just weird.
