I see that the movie is on sale on Vudu for cheap. Should I pick up the digital copy or is the digital copy picture quality really bad? The reviews on this site say it is really bad for the BR.

7.99 is not cheap for wing commander, its been down to 4.99 several times.

I have a friend who was a programmer at Origin and later EA and has STORIES about the personalities of certain "rock stars" from those days. He mostly worked with Garriott, but also spent some time working for Roberts and some other of the EA honchos.

His descriptions of Garriott's birthday parties are pretty wild but he took special glee in retelling the tale of the special premiere they held for this film for the staff and Roberts' reaction to the gales of laughter from the programmers who were invited.

There were a few Morgan Creek titles that were very briefly released on Blu-ray in 2015 by Warner Bros. before they vanished from the marketplace. I noticed around 3-4 years ago, a copy of The Art of War popped up on eBay from a local Goodwill and they were asking around that amount which was insane. But someone knew of the scarcity of these titles. Then about three years ago, Hamilton Book got ahold of quite a few copies and were selling them on their site for $6.

That's where I got my copy.
