Excited for Dante's Inferno! This 20 movie sub is filling up quick. Admittedly I will be disappointed if Rocktober Blood won't come during my current sub as it's the one I've been looking forward to the most.

Too me, normal wear is fine. If you get the colors ok and no digital mess (like DNR or something) then it is good for me. So go for it!

Brad,

Is this take on Inferno using the same master that Redwood label created with a crowdfunder, or did you do a whole new scan (or use different materials altogether)?

If it is the crowdfunded restoration then it it terrible from what I've heard.

let's wait and see what TV/brad say. they are usually very transparent with things like this. the item description on the TV store says "a new 4K restoration from surviving elements of an over 100-year-old film" which sounds like a good start to me. i would imagine that expectations need to be kept in check for a 100 year old film print!

I ordered Night of the Bastard (Culture Shock Releasing) back in August. Their site still says it ships in September, and it is now November. Anyone know what is going on with this? I've emailed Chloe in the past with questions, and she always replied fairly quickly. I emailed about this a couple days ago, and haven't heard back.

It is the same scan but we are approaching it a little differently than Redwood. I know why it looked funky with their disc with being a BD25 and 1080i which we would never do. We are working on a couple other presentations as well to keep in mind but nothing confirmed. We want to make this release very definitive. If you're on the fence - I would wait until we reveal everything so you're not unhappy.

Their Redwood restoration looks good - it isn't perfect because the print is over 100 years old that it was sourced from. There are some inherit issues with the print itself which reflect in the restoration but some of that in unavoidable.

We are working on a couple things for the release but nothing is set in stone and not sure if it will happen at the end of the day, but we shall see but we will exploit it if it does happen.

As said above, please do keep your expectation in check because some of this is pretty rough. I didn't want to put a bunch of stabilization or any DNR to this release.

Again, I wouldn't say terrible but it is very rough but due to the material they are working with. To even source this film from anything is somewhat of a miracle since these prints are extremely hard to come by and INCREDIBLY difficult to handle. At this point the film material is pretty toxic and fragile.

This wouldn't be a Chloe question. That would be a question for CSR. They are in control of their own releases and schedule - we just distribute their titles and nothing in the warehouse for them. I don't even have an answer for this.

Here is our trailer for the film and you can make the determination for yourself. We ain't trying to dupe anyone here: https://twitter.com/BradFHenderson/s...238148288?s=20

And the other thing is that anyone in the world can release this film. YOU could release this film. My love for silent film runs very deep and there's a ton more that I would like to do with the label and films from around the world in all capacities but even more so in the silent era. We simply saw an opportunity to give a wonderful film a decent release and go overboard on the music to have more people give stuff like this a chance.

Even being public domain and not having a license fee - this is one of our more expensive projects to date.

Considering its age, it looks pretty good (I mean, it's older than me!). I'd like to order it, but I can't find what TV charges to ship to Canada.

We charge whatever the rate is to be fair. Email Chloe@graveface.com to find the best solution.

I just noticed something. I bought it through TV wholesale, and that link says September. The regular TV site says it ships in October. I assume wholesale's info is out of date.

So, it is currently only 1 day late, versus 1 month and 1 day. Not as bad.

As long as you've responded to one question. Is there an easy way to find out how many titles I have remaining on a blu-ray subscription? I re-upped just before you started announcing a bazillion titles, and I figure my sub won't make it much longer.
