Jeff,
With North by Northwest finally announced for BD, is there any hope of some of the Universal classics coming soon too? I'm thinking specifically of Vertigo, Psycho, Rear Window and The Man Who Knew Too Much remake. Also, what about Barry Lyndon? Almost the entire Kubrick catalog is on BD, but not this classic? It would shine on Blu. Any news? Thanks |

![]() Jeff, I just noticed on The Digital Bits that Bill stated Universal has announced "Wild Child" for DVD in November. As a movie that looks like something of a "copycat" of "What A Girl Wants", a movie I really enjoyed, I was HOPING for a Blu-ray release. The omission of a Blu-ray release announcement is disappointing to say the least (particularly when the newest "Bring It On" DTV sequel gets a release). Any hope for a Blu-ray announcement once we get closer to release date, or did Universal decide to go the DVD-only route given the film's target audience? *DISCLAIMER: I mentioned DTS-HD MA SOLELY because LoM is a DISNEY release. ~Alan Last edited by Alan Gordon; 07-29-2009 at 12:34 AM. |

Yes, that was a reply to you.
Sadly, Bring it On 74 or whatever it is will well way better, on rental copies alone. If it's a new release, especially one that appeals to the under 30 crowd, it's 10x more likely to get a Blu-ray than a catalog title that by and large appeals to the over 40. Wild Child is a superb film, and Im sure itll get its due down the line |

Ooops, I thought it was Truffaut
![]() Girl-centric movies, as that appears to be aren't selling well at ALL, some studios keep putting them out on Blu, thinking I guess that a bunch of men will think as long as they sneak pretty woman onto the top of the pile, the wife won't notice the other 4 ![]() |

Since it's asked about a lot:
On the main page there's a news article about the step-by-step process of manufacturing a Blu-ray disc, as shown here: https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=3191 The Australian website that took photos of the Sony Blu-ray production plant reveals a disc label for a certain Will Smith/Martin Lawrence sequel: http://www.news.com.au/common/imaged...6669750,00.jpg So...it's coming out on BD somewhere in the world... ![]() |

I do not like asking about specific titles, but any rumors about the second season of Justice League by Warner possibly coming? It obviously did not sell well if new copies that were supposed to be destroyed snuck out into the Big Lots clearance dump, but Warner does not want to become known as a studio that orphans tv shows on Blu-ray.

The Rocky set has not been announced beyond confirmation of plans
There is no information on Bad Boys outside of someone spotting the disc art at Sony DADC, which could have been for the DVD as well. Honestly, I'm sick of the question. It will come when it comes, there's obviously a demand for it. I would say that Justice League didn't sell that well, but nothing in the Big Lots sale should be taken as an indicator of anything other than WB clearing shelf space of mid to mid-low catalog. All fo this stuff is done all the time by all studios, you just never see it |
