It doesn't. It's called film grain. Most people won't remember.

Look at the text, it seems crisp and sharp minus the JPEG compression. If it was a scan, the text would probably look bad too.

No, it's Std pressed MOD. Note the Bluray logo on the case. Post 24 shows the disc scans.
I also have it and can 100% confirm it's a normal pressed BD

Sorry to revive such an old thread. Are there BD screencaps for this one somewhere? I'm curious to see if the frame has been cropped like the DVD. E.g., at the beginning of chapter 3 (Amanda Peet at her desk talking on the phone), can we see the closed binder on the desk with the mouth on the cover, and the stapler?

It's not so bad you could mistake it for SD, especially with the sprinkling throughout of sequences that actually look pretty good. But it's definitely underwhelming. Too bad this wasn't a Sony title proper and is instead a Morgan Creek transfer from Warner, then the transfer would be way better.

It really does look underwhelming in person. The photo is *very* low-res and the text is obviously brand-new.
