How heavy is the XPA 3? In the manual it says 54 lbs, but on one part of the Emo website it says 71 lbs. All their units seem to be around the 70 lb mark, so the XPA 3 being lighter seems strange.

Also, it says in the manual that it is a 850VA toroid, but when you click "Buy" on the XPA 3 page, it say 1600VA toroid. So what is the weight and what size toroid?

Hey PitbullMike, what do you think the weight of the XPA 3 is since you have it?

now that i think about it, the XPA-3 was definately lighter than the old LPA-1 i had which was around 70lbs so i would say the 57lbs is right on.

I just received the tracking manifest from Fedex, and the shipping weight is 72 lbs. That's a lot of weight for the packing materials 72 minus 57. I haven't seen such care with packaging since I bought the YBA cd player.

PitbullMike, how do you find the SQ from the XPA 3?

On the website: 71 lbs boxed and 57 lbs unboxed

Which makes sense since my XPA 2 was 88.6lbs boxes and is 75.4lbs unboxed... So around 13-14 lbs of packing material (if I remember it ships in an carboard box that's inside another thick cardboard box). I guess they don't want returns due to shipping damages.

Its a fantastic amp. All i can really say is it does the job perfectly. It amplifies the signal without coloring the sound in any way just like a good amp should do. I use it to power my Center and surrounds. I use an RPA-1 for my main left/right.
