I'd love that. Maybe it's just home theater induced, psychosomatic high pressure nervous syndrome...but the open matte does have a more immersive quality, as if the extra image real estate on the vertical adds to the perceived weight and depth of water...

I only saw "The Abyss" once, about ten years ago or more. A friend of mine had brought the DVD over, and wanted me to watch it with him. I remember liking it more than I expected, but I never bought my own copy of it. This new Blu-Ray release might just change my mind.

some forums had request titles and the abyss was number 1 for a while.. there certainly some interested. Same goes with true lies. it would not surprise me if does titanic type numbers.
