Although it will probably never happen anytime soon (if ever at all), I'm still (desperately) waiting for properly restored (& completely unaltered/uncut/uncensored/etc.) Blu-ray or 4K UHD releases of the following titles:

If anyone has the disc in hand, I’d love to know if there are any special features - trying to decide if I pick one up or just grab on VOD

Jeremy Coon talks about this on the Filmumentaries podcast around the 38 min mark. He talks about how he had thought about putting them on but everything felt like overkill.

Force Awakens is one of the all-time highest films for a reason as well. If we go animated Bad Batch has been more than worthwhile. |

![]() So let me get this straight: Because my personal taste in Star Wars content differs from whatever your personal taste in Star Wars content is, I am automatically "full of it"? Wait a second... Kathleen Kennedy, is that you? But seriously, I am trying to understand your thought process here. Are you implicating that my original post was insincere, dishonest, or at least sarcastic? Are you attempting to convince me that my personal preference for what I find "more enjoyable to watch" or what I would rather own over something else is somehow "wrong"? ![]() I mean, I can only assume that your response is actually suggesting that my particular taste in Star Wars films/series is "inarguably inferior" to your own taste. If that's the case, I still find your statement incredibly funny if not completely pointless. Perhaps you should go back and reread what I actually typed. Here, I'll even help you out a bit... Quote:
I'm definitely not implying that I speak on the behalf of all the Star Wars nerds and Di$ney devotees so my words should not be misinterpreted as reflecting anyone else's interests or opinions. Also, for the record, I was never dumb enough to even claim that any specific Star Wars film or series is either "better" or "worse" than any other Star Wars property (cinematic or otherwise). Everyone has their own personal likes and dislikes concerning art and entertainment. To argue that one's own cinematic taste is somehow "better" or that another person's is somehow "worse" is kind of dumb. Different perhaps? Absolutely. "Better" or "worse"? Yeah, according to who exactly...? Give me a break. ![]() You can validate or defend your own personal cinematic tastes all that you want. Go ahead and cite just how much money "whatever" has made, or how popular it is with the general public, or even how much "critical acclaim" and awards it has received. I do not allow such things to dictate my own personal enjoyment of any given film, tv series, work of music, or whatever. Honestly, I will never understand that "follow the masses" mentality of "hey, everyone else is saying this is the greatest thing ever so I need to like it now and you should too!" So many people willingly adhere to this and flaunt it to all who "disobey". I can't help but have the impression that your pallet for films and music falls heavily on the more "mainstream" side of the spectrum. That's not a "bad" thing but it's not inherently a "good" thing either. It's merely just "different" from my own set of sensibilities and standards of enjoyment and quite frankly, reveals a lot about your perspective regarding this overall topic. Funny enough, I'm not trying to convert or convince others that they should enjoy watching The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) more than they should enjoy watching The Mandalorian (2019) or whatever. Hell, I never claimed to have "good taste", "bad taste", or "any taste" for that matter but I will accept that I do have "different taste" than whatever you have. So what's your problem with my original statement? You might pass judgement on my personal taste in Star Wars content, find it all rather confusing, and even condemn it as "inferior" just because it is different from what you personally like and enjoy. But what makes you so confident that others, including myself, do not find your personal taste in Star Wars films and series equally abysmal? I mean, you are the person "going to bat" for the likes of Solo A Star Wars Story (2018) and other Di$ney products fresh off the assembly line... ![]() Me: ![]() You can go ahead and keep 'em all. I absolutely have no interest in viewing any of them ever again let alone purchasing them to own. |

Anyone who thinks the Ewok movies and Holiday Special are better than what Disney's put out, especially the examples I listed, has got to be trolling.

![]() ![]() I'm definitely not "trolling" (to use your choice of term), I'm just being honest. If anyone is "trolling" here, it is obviously you. (Why are you doing this? I do not know or even care.) But still, way to completely ignore everything I actually wrote in my previous post... yet again. So show me, where exactly did I even type something along the lines of "'this' is better than 'that'" in my last message? Go ahead, quote me directly and specifically because I can't seem to locate it myself. I would really like to see you accomplish proving this without resorting to altering my original choice of words in order to fit your own agenda. I'm very sorry that you are incapable of accepting the fact that other people do not enjoy the same movies or series that you enjoy so dearly. Clearly there is no point in trying to reason with your peculiar way of thinking, at least logically and politely because it is ultimately a futile endeavor. May I suggest you go back to enjoying your beloved Di$ney Star Wars films and listening to your precious Taylor Swift albums? I promise you that I will forever remain quite content with watching gory Italian horror films and listening to noisy Darkthrone albums instead. In regards to your "full of it" and "has got to be trolling" remarks, all that I'm left with to say to you is simply: ![]() |
