It'll then take you to the Titanic launch page hit "play" again and voila (the special features also play correctly too). Played the first 20 mins of the film and honestly looks AMAZING (though can't wait to see it again when I get my disc) for being streamed...

Mine isn’t showing up under 4k/HDR.

I guess mine wasn’t upgraded.

I have another code from a Titanic Blu, but I iTunes won’t let me claim it because it says I already have it.

I put my Digital Copy Code from the 2012 Canadian Blu-Ray and it brought me to how would I like my movie and it showed iTunes so I may redeem it later but the only way I could watch it is from my iPhone 13 Pro

Yeah it has to show up under your 4K/HDR folder/section within your Apple TV app for it to be properly upgraded.

The TV app hasn't updated. It only updates when YOU make a change to your library, not them. So if you buy a movie or hide/unhide a movie it will update. If you have an AppleTV box, find it in the Movies app under the library tab. That will tell you which version you own and play it correctly.

2012 Blu is self explanatory with the 100 Years Logo, 2023 4K Version may have the Bylineless 2023 Paramount Logo or hopefully the Original 1997 Logo

The itunes 1080p steam, with Atmos track, I have taken some peeks at today has the 1997 logo at the start. The color grading seems to be different from the original blu-ray grading. Not a dramatic difference but it does exhibit less of a green/teal/cyan bias.

I wonder if the Paramount+ stream might actually be the same as the one I have currently been viewing on itunes. It has been up for a while.

Are you able to confirm if the sunset at approximately the 76 minute mark is the same altered version as before?

I want to thank you guys for the tip on redeeming an older code and getting the 4K. The 3D blu-ray set has been in my backlog forever, just redeemed the code from it and got the 4K on Apple.

Sunset is the new version. I would assume all of the other 2012 changes are still there as well.

Yes, but if you redeemed it a decade ago, like many of us did, then you're stuck with SD. Love how the people who redeemed it within it's intended window got the short end of the stick. I'm not mad at the people who just redeemed it and got 4K, just mad at Paramount.

The code originally redeemed SD, but later was updated to redeem HD (and again to give a Vudu copy).

Gotcha. So we weren’t grandfathered in. We definitely got the short end of the stick. It is what it is.

And it only shows Dolby vision but no 4K. No problem for me as the disc is what I will be watching anyway when released.

It it's not showing up under the 4K HDR section in the ATV app, then it won't play in 4K. It'll play in SD or HD depending on if you search for it or manually find it the movies or romance genre section. You'll want to go to the Movies app and play it to get it play in 4K (assuming you had the HD copy of it).

If it’s SD, it’ll also show up in the TV app’s 4K HDR section because it will still have Dolby Vision, which is stupid but that’s the way the section works.

That's why I said if it's not showing under the ATV's 4K HDR section. I am going on the assumption that the poster hasn't had their ATV app library updated. I have the movie in 4K, but it still doesn't show up in that section (haven't bought anything or had any imports since Titanic went 4K) and that is what I have noticed. The Movies app is the best way to see what one owns.

Quick iTunes rule check/redemption check

I bought the March 2021 release of Titanic on blu-ray with Digital HD (currently still in HD in iTunes, for what its worth.) I didn't buy the September 2012 blu-ray release with SD rights or the 3D blu-ray September 2012 release with SD rights.

- If I redeem a 4K code from the 4K disc combo pack, first by going to paramountmovies.com or whichever website, click redeem in iTunes/Apple TV; I should be upgraded to 4K, right? Or will this burn the code? I currently have HD rights in iTunes.

- If I somehow burn the code... then I can gift myself Titanic in 4K by buying the movie as a gift and send it to myself, upgrading my HD rights to 4K, right?

Paramount really knows how to make the most money off of me. But f' it.
