Depends how you define intellectual discussion; that's a fairly subjective definition afterall.

Remember that this is NOT designed to be a neutral site! This site is for people who are interested in Blu-ray specifically, so of course discussion will be biased.

Now AVS or forums like it have far more call to be unbiased and impartial, but look at the situation there.

Many people on this forum have invested in Blu-ray for the long haul so of course we aren't going to react well to suggestions that we're wrong to do that. Perfectly naturally.

If it's impartial debate you want, there are forums out there that should in theory be providing it.

I'm amazed people didn't pick up on the name "Smurf" since that's one of several usually negative nicknames HD-DVD zealots give to BD supporters. Yet again, I'm not sure how someone like that even made it as long as they did around here.


Anyways, I've said this before and I'll say it again: The Hd-DVD folks have free run across most of the prominent and major forums and we basically have our little corner of the universe here.

Despite that, they just can't leave us alone so the only thing I can conclude is that we must really be some serious threat to them, since we constantly expose and destroy every piece of FUD and lying they come up with.

That has to be it, because how ridiculous can it be? They have AVS. They have HTF. They have High Def Digest and that's still not good enough for them.

This place has a big fat bullseye on it and I think it speaks for itself.

That brings up another question, why are the "major" sites (avs, HTF, HDD) so damn red? Is the logic fogging hatred of sony that strong? Is PiP really the savior of HDM? Isn't it supposed to be about the A/V quality?

I disagree with your saying there are no intelligent conversations here. There are many, the problem is you visit the titillating thread titles like this one.

Ok, the Blu Bloods are silly; the term means snobbery or someone who is about to pass out for lack of oxygen. Still they are having fun and I don't care as long as they are not using this forum as a safe haven after trolling. That'd bug me. There is nothing wrong with their saying, "Go Blu".

I left Highdef and joined here in January. I will never go there even to click on a story. The fewer hits that place gets the better. Let it eventually swirl down the toilet bowl.
