That's exactly what keeps me for turning To all-digital.
You don't own anything that's on Amazon, iTunes, Netflix.
And they can change anything at their convenience, without giving any explanation.
They do the same with books, too, which I buy, remove the DRM and make backup copies.

I cannot even access iTunes with my legit 3D digital code, in my country.
Let alone the actual 4K stream.

Turning TO all-digital? Sounds like you want to be away from it.

EDIT: Oh, did you mistype "from"?

The Final Word and parodies appear to be missing from the earlier BD.

This is what Cameron said about ALIENS on Blu-Ray in 2010:

Quote:
"It's spectacular. We went in and completely de-noised it, de-grained it, up-rezzed, color-corrected every frame, and it looks amazing. It looks better that it looked in the theaters originally. Because it was shot on a high-speed negative that was a new negative that didn't pan out too well and got replaced the following year. So it's pretty grainy. We got rid of all the grain. It's sharper and clearer and more beautiful than it's ever looked.
Now, the likelihood is that Cameron did similar things to this Titanic UHD but frankly, it does appear to look very good on the screen caps, and the ALIENS Blu-Ray looked great as well. If this is Cameron's method for his movies scanned at 4K then I'd trust the process, as he seems to not take things too far. It's the potential up-scaling of lower resolution movies that I'd be more concerned about, so I don't think I need to worry about ALIENS, The Abyss or True Lies UHD. I think they'll look great.

got my collector's edition in. *sigh, Paramount used those same cardboard trays that absolutely TRASH discs. like Universal Pictures style trays that you had to cram the discs in and they're forced to scrap against the cardboard to even pull them out. Mine came scratched so badly that I can't even review the disc (it locks up within the first 30 minutes and chokes a TON due to a scratch so bad I can actually feel it with my fingernail). This set is going to cause a lot of problems I can guarantee it.

Those cardboard sleeves are terrible. Sorry about the scratches.

But since this has been a HUGE issue since the CE was announced, can you please tell us about the book? Some people say it looks cheap (I don't know how, the pic doesn't show anything either way). Can you tell us how many pages it is?

Thanks.

Yeah that, and the bitrate itself could also change dynamically. Even if your connection is high capacity, their servers could be overwhelmed, and they can throttle how much data they output, essentially lowering the quality even more compared to the disc version.

Not to mention censoring stuff (like what happened with The French Connection).

the book itself isn't really "cheap". It feels nice to the touch, has a good heavy weight to it, and is 14 sheets of double sided photos from the production. It's what I would consider "mid range" in terms of quality. It's not going to blow you a way and feels tacked on, but it is not chintzy or super cheap feeling.

I thought that was just on some Criterion streaming service?

They censored purchased versions on iTunes?

Walmart accidently put this out and let me buy it. Either they decided to put it out early or someone might get in trouble..lol

This is the +$100 one? It comes in cardboard?!?! Wow.

Not even close for comparison but I just got the Kids in the Hall set and it's in cardboard and EVERY disk was stuck! Had to pry them all out and all are very scratched (light not deep, but scratches all over the whole disk), we're trying to go through everything to make sure it works. (DVD so I'm not super worried, but worried enough!) But I for the life of me can't understand why they keep putting things in cardboard?! Especially collector's sets!!

What do you want them to do? Put an episode of South Park on there just for sh*ts and giggles?

What are you going to fill 3.3GB with that's relevant?

Your math doesn't add up. Are you ok with the remaining 4 GB?

Doesn't using the whole disc causes issues with reading and playback?

Yes.

That said, it was only in the US. And TCM not too long ago screened the uncensored version, so I think it's a mistake that's gonna be fixed sooner or later, if it hasn’t been already.
