Audio on DVD that you can mistake for Lossless

I think it's probably more that different people might have not as good hearing, and the people with better hearing are more apt to expose themselves to the sort of material that would "teach" them to recognize the signs of "lossy-ness". I can easily identify compressed audio when it's as compressed as Youtube or something, but I must admit, I don't think my hearing is keen enough to distinguish any difference between a higher resolution audio than DVD's audio.

People just have different senses, and hearing is one that generally isn't called upon as much in society as sight. Yes, hearing is an important sense, but the keenness of it doesn't matter as much in everyday life.
