There's already a UHD set with all the Craig films, so it's not like they're against packaging it.
TBH I think the real reason is they're going to do a UHD boxset in the future, possibly to promote the next film

Interesting- I wasn't aware that they re-issued the UHD Craig set with NTTD included. Fingers crossed that you're right about the UHD boxset, I'd certainly love to own the whole series in 4K.

Is this really on track to get a 4K box set release?

I don't care about odd/even numbers, or the last Craig film, but at $53 this is mighty tempting to have them all in one box set. However, I've also already spent way too much money on BF movies and a new game console.

Are the versions on Amazon Prime better quality than the current James Bond Collection blu-ray set?

I know Goldeneye is a new transfer and a definite upgrade. Most of the others are 4KSDR masters from the same transfers the BDs were mastered from, possibly with some exceptions I can’t recall.

Sadly we all hoped a full-series UHD box would be happening when NTTD came out too. They sadly let that opportunity pass by.

Since it's going to be YEARS before another Bond movie is released, they might as well let it out now before the UHD market evaporates. None of us are getting any younger.

They also skipped over the 60th anniversary of the film franchise last year.

The US BDs have an "original" audio option which usually is a lossy poor quality sounding original mix option, occasionally a decent lossy 2.0 track or sometimes a folddown of the 5.1 remix.

The only film of the original series that seems to have used a newer scan on its BD is The Spy Who Loved Me. Aside from some color timing issues it's the only BD that I'm relatively happy with. (Though it has a 5.1 remix and neither original audio option present.)
The Brosnan films all sound very good as they should but none of their video transfers will wow you. Also, Goldeneye reverted to an older master as the Lowry DVD was crud-and so the BD looks crummy.

Basically just get the BDs as cheaply as you can and watch with the original audio option for DN through to LTK. Then if you're a die hard fan it helps to have older releases for better audio or less screwed with picture.
Definately a 2.0 on my disc. Unless it's a folddown.

Just watched a 4K screening of Dr. No at the Prince Charles cinema in London. Film looked great; such vibrant colours but not really any noticeable grain present. It wasn’t waxy or overly DNR’d but certainly looked very digital as opposed to filmic. The new restoration of Peeping Tom on other hand has splendid colours and splendid grain management.

Was it a new transfer, or the existing Lowry master?

No idea. The colours however looked similar to the existing Blurays.

I haven't heard anything about a new remaster, so I'd imagine it's just the existing transfer

From various news articles over the past week, pretty crazy. You’d think audiences could decide on their own if they are offended or not:

“Audiences at a new season of films at the British Film Institute in London have been cautioned the titles – including two James Bond movies – “will cause offence today”.

A blanket trigger warning has been placed over all movies being presented at a tribute to the work of British composer John Barry, the man behind the scores for many 007 films.

The disclaimer warns that all the films in John Barry: Soundtracking Bond and Beyond “contain language, images or other content that reflect views prevalent in its time, but will cause offence today (as they did then).“

I mean John Barry was a bit of a prick, but you can't tell that by his music!

It said right on his business card:

I agree that it's silly. But if the alternatives are to either edit the original film to make it more palatable for modern audiences, or not show it at all, I'll take the disclaimer.
