I have a few TV shows.

But, ... If I watched TV more often I would likely have more. I've always preferred watching my collected content over watching TV and that has carried through into streaming which is the new form of TV. My house where I've been for over 20 years now has no over the air reception and I don't have any idea if that even still exists. It had a large roof mounted rotate-able antennae that only ever got a almost scrambled looking PBS station. I removed and recycled it long ago.

The HBO series seem to cinematic to be considered Shows for the most part. Like The Last of Us or Game of Thrones. They certainly rise above most of what you would have ever seen on TV.

I'm super proud of my kids and glad to hear that crutzulee is proud of his as well. All of mine are adults now which is nice.

Not everything has to be considered a treasure. Some movies are disposable after the first viewing. Most are not even worth a single viewing.

This is the part I don't understand. There are certainly movies that you don't know you don't like them until after you've seen them. But I don't understand the mindset that you thought it was enjoyable and worth watching once but you have no desire to watch it again.

I really don't understand the mindset when it comes to comments like this:

Crutzulee apparently liked the shows enough to spend more than 60 hours watching each of them but didn't like them enough to buy them. Why spend 60 hours on something you don't care much about?

Why would you guys say this, a Collection has the same value to the Collector whether Disc or Digital. If something is lost it could happen to both, but Digital has more Server Backups!

Not the same value as when I no longer want a film I can sell it. If i decide I no longer want blue beetle I could sell it for 10 to 15 dollars while in a digital collection it has zero value because you don't own it.

Apparently Warner Bros. television shows will be disappearing from the Playstation store and it sounds like if you purchased any shows they'll be wiped from your account.

That's where you are wrong, all you own is a Disc that will age and the Monetary Value will decrease but a true Film Collector will have Value in their Collection stored on various Film Servers!

You think collectors of high quality disc based movies give a crap about monetary value?

I certainly don’t, the value is in ownership and future enjoyment. You can’t put a price on that.

For me, it's both ends of the spectrum in terms of if the content is "good".

Ironically some criterions and A24 artsy films are compelling but leave no desire to revisit the material.

It's not just Cheers that I enjoyed but I'm willing to move on from it's Lamb too. Enjoyed them both with no desire to visit again.

I watched Lamb on Kanopy and also watched Infinity Pool. Kanopy has a lot of criterion and A24. I just ordered Infinity Pool because that is a good one that I would want to re-visit and thankfully the next watch will be higher quality presentation also.

I own my discs.

You own nothing on a server unless it's your server.

Playstation is removing this purchased content at the end of the month. For the sake of people who purchased it I hope it wasn't valuable to them.

That is quite a stretch. I've sold a few thousand movies from my collection in the past 25 years. You can't sell your digital copy even if you wanted to.

disposable can mean a lot of different things.

for example.

I like testing out new shows, you can't know if you like it if you don't try it, so I set my PVR to tape the series and if I don't like it I just erase the series from recording.

I have bought a few TV show seasons but the reality is I am always excited and anticipating when I get the disks and run through them, but at the end of the day I almost never re-watch them again since if I have 1.5h I can afford to spend on watching something it is easier for me to pick re-watching a film that is 1.5h than 2 1h episodes or 4.5h episodes and leave them there to continue tomorrow and it is always I will keep the TV show for some other day.

Because it means you need to have an other 60 h to spend on it to re-watch a it once and an other 60h every time you re-watch it. None of us have infinite time so people prioritize something else like the 30 2h films or new shows they never watched before.

I believe it is Warner Bros. that is doing the removing. Wonder if they have that same content on other platforms and if so, will they remove it from them as well. One thing you can count on, there will be some whining whining by those that purchased. Bet most of the whiners never read their TOS.

Serious question, are you really that much of a

? I ask because you are the only poster I know that knows so little about how all of this works. Disc owners own their disc, it does not matter to us if any given title’s resale value decreases with time. In some cases a OOP title can sell for a lot of money.

Your digital collection - resale value - worthless. It is possible it could completely disappear and you know what you can do about - absolutely nothing. And you agreed to this fact!!!

You do realize some of your titles may have been sanitized. And again, there is nothing you are going to do about it.

1) A few times when conversation brought up some rare films I have people had offered me much more than what I paid for them for those films. would anyone be interested in buying any of your films and if they were could you sell them those films?

All companies eventually close (e.g. cinema now) and no company stays static with all the services they once offered (e.g. target is still around, target ticket is not)

4)you also keep on saying you have not lost anything but you also keep on saying some of your films got "upgraded". Unless they still offer for you to pick the original then you lost the original, if someone is not happy with the "upgrade" they are stuck.

lol. I have a few films where I can easily get more than 20 times what I paid for them and unless you are talking about pirated copies you don't own those servers and there is no value on how many servers it is stored on.
