Default To sub or not to sub????

I have been upgrading alot and finally finished my setup. I went from Polk polk monitor 50 mains to Kef IQ7s as my mains. I find myself listening to more 2 channel audio than watching movies these days. Furthermore I find myself turning my sub off( which is very musical, good job martin logan) and setting my speakers to full range, closing my eyes and enjoying good music. I guess my question is how many use a sub in their 2 channel setup. Also did you also find yourself just not using a sub for 2 channel audio. I am in the process of building a dedicated 2 channel rig but just curious about this one. Thanks.

Sometimes I will just for giggles, but 95% is without sub.

Cool I do the same thing. But the kefs bass response has really opened up since I spiked them and have put a few hours on them. I am looking a some vintage polks or the LSI 9's for a 2 channel rig. Cant wait for that to get setup.,\

Although my sub can do a good (not great) job musically, I prefer full range from my mains only for music.

I have a dedicated 2 channel listening room. My Klipsch WF35 Icons have good bass extension at moderate levels and above, but for low volume level listening (which I do alot of) I keep a low gain set on my Supercube III. What I like about this sub is that it is articulate and very musical. In a small room such as mine, bass can easily become overbearing. I find I'm constantly adjusting to find the right presence. Problem is, it changes with the music. Anyway, it's an interactive hobby to say the least.
