This is from Shout! Factory. I was just browsing Walmart's site and this showed up. No announcement from SF, and it looks like it releases next week?

It's a Shout Factory 4k steelbook. This is around the price they normally retail for.

Interesting artwork, but NOPE. If they had issued this to begin with, probably would have gone for it, but not double dipping, certainly not at that price.

Not quite. The re-release poster is a B&W version of one that was originally colorized.

Neat. Now what does it take to get WM to ship in a box? Last time I ordered movies it came in those flimsy white bubble envelopes like what Target uses. Almost always smashed. Even the brown cardboard wraps of Best Buy and Deep Discount are superior.

That's what I'm wondering. My last steelbook came from Best Buy in a box with air pillows and Fedex still managed to dent the hell out of it.

This reminds me of the Natural Born Killers steelbook. Shout also used movie poster art on that one.

Did this get changed to Feb 27th for the release? Now says get it by Feb 28th on the shipping for the item.

Would make sense with the announcement of Platoon 4k and Dragonheart 4k

Yep, that makes more sense. The tight turn-around of being released one week from announcement seemed infeasible.

I'm a little bit frustrated with Shout Factory for releasing a SteelBook edition almost exactly one year after releasing the standard 4K (and doing the same thing with Platoon, with that one being approximately a 1.5-year difference). I've come to expect that sort of behavior from the majors during my relatively short amount of time collecting (just coming up on two years), but not boutiques.

Shout has been doing this for a while. It is annoying though.

Sony has been releasing steelbooks with updated DV versions of previous HDR only 4K discs.
