There's movies like American Psycho that have a Christmas scene, but you could remove it or change the setting and it wouldn't have any impact on the overall film. Patrick and Evelyn could have just as well been at a wine festival or a charity dinner instead of a Christmas party and it wouldn't have mattered.
Then you have movies like Meet Me in St. Louis or Fanny and Alexander, which aren't about Christmas, but have MAJOR scenes around the holiday and are integral to the plot and overall feel of the film. Coincidentally both are period films set in 1907-1909. Perfect double feature. |
