Leave the World Behind (2023)

I was thoroughly entertained by it, and any movie where Julia Roberts dances is a winner in my book (loved that scene between her and Ali). But ya, it’s maybe not as profound as it’s expected to be and and won’t warrant the 2hr+ slow burn for some. The slow, disquieting build-up with sharp piano cues was very reminiscent of Homecoming (the previous Esmail/Roberts collab).

I did find it comical how it depicts the negative influence technology has had on us but at the same time we’re so helpless without it now.
