Hitchcock films in the 1940s were OK, nothing special. He only really "got good" from the '50s

The Avatar movies feel like they were made for 12 year olds.

I felt the first one was good. It was fun, and the visuals were awesome.
The second I thought was terrible. It felt like the animation was far less smooth, making the whole experience unpleasant. It also felt like EVERYONE was a Spider-man, which made things terribly boring. At least in the first movie, it was a handful of Spider-man variants dealing with a variety of other characters. |

Hitchcock's filmography is surprisingly deep. He was also best when working in a couple of small boxes. Something like I, Confess was simply the wrong material for him, and it suffers for that disconnect. |

I also loved the first Spiderverse but really disliked the second. It was a frenetic, headache inducing overkill that in my opinion devolved into nonsense where I didn't care about any of it. And yes I'm very aware I'm in the minority.

I guess I was just curious as to why Tarantino is liked by many and his films praised, especially the zeitgeist that was Pulp Fiction. Aside from the unusual dialogue and great repurposed music, I don't see it. |

I wonder if Tarantino's last film will be about a shark that terrorizes a beach community over a holiday? The town sherrif will go out on a boat to try to kill it and get whisked off somewhere over the rainbow where he will meet three little people who will help him find the one ring that will help him get back home. It will be his best "homage" of all-time.
