I remember when Arrow submitted Inferno to the BBFC, the scene near the end where Mark goes beneath the floorboards and witnesses a cat eating a mouse was originally gonna be cut. Enough people online raised a stink about it, though, and contacted the BBFC that they reconsidered and the film was passed uncut.

There a big difference
A cat eating a mouse is something that often happens naturally regardless of whether or not it had been filmed.

Puttting a rat into a container with oxygenated breathing fluid on purpose and causing distress is not something that would happen naturally

I would have been ok with a "cut" version. It's the same version I already own on dvd.
It's no problem though, I'll just import it.

I do find this BBFC thingy ridiculous anyway (I'm all for protecting animals, but I fail to see how any animal is protected by censorship after the act), but the "While at least one animal was killed in order to create this sequence, octopuses are invertebrates and therefore do not comprise 'protected animals' within the meaning of the Animal Welfare Act 2006." just made it even more ridiculous than I thought it was lol - poor octopuses chose the wrong juristic species I guess.

Y'all know it's nothing to do with the BBFC, right? I mean, I'm not a fan after growing up in the shadow of Ferman but I've been importing movies for a quarter of a century to get around their shenanigans so I don't get all hot and bovvered about it, but there's an actual law that this movie is contravening, so therefore it must still be cut.

If Cameron doesn't want to acquiesce to a cut version then the responsibility ultimately lies with him. Once upon a time he personally recut True Lies to get a 15 certificate for it, and with today's tech I'm sure they could've zoomed and finagled that scene in The Abuse a lot betterer than they did on the old cut version, but El Cameroon doesn't want to know.

Just boom, out go the lights. But trip a horsey on-screen and that'll get snipped pretty darned quick.

As folks have said: True Lies was BBFC censored. But all the cuts were waived well over a decade ago so saying anything else is just shit-stirring for the sake of it. You'll fit right in, stranger!

The dvd has a certificate that is cut 15, the streaming is a 15 uncut.
What certificate and cut status are the BD and the UHD?.
