Someone somewhere (in summertime) put the old Aliens Blu through a popular AI software and, somehow, did a much, much better job than what's being officially peddled by James Cameron right now.
It's not even funny.

Actually, to me that looks pretty much as bad as what the retail is, look at the first shot especially. Which makes me think that what they did with all their "remastering" work at Pork Road is equivalent to an automated AI pass through Topaz and some colour tweaks, lol. Sigh.

It is possible for different opinions to co-exist. You'd never know it though. Just like you'd never know (by reading these threads) that Cameron was a prestige director (don't tell me that was Nolan), you'd think he was a hack or something.

When people start picking out all the disappearing/reappearing errors on faces and bodies you see in motion, I just can't imagine even the idiots on Reddit thinking this looks good on any level whatsoever.

So RIP to the chances of having good versions of True Lies and Aliens in 4k? It sucks that we waited this long for this.

If one is indeed happy w/ the BD, then by all means they should enjoy it. I don't know if I'm completely buying that though. I mean w/ the venom that continues to flow, it seems a tad contradictory...Yes/No? or is it really better? or is that something one has convinced themselves of? Look at this way: in a hundred years, who's gonna care?
