Okay, cool to see Fighter 3D is happening in 3D theaters worldwide. Not many show times at Cinemark, but good to see 3D showtimes. Looks potentially entertaining for a fighter jet action movie. I'm guessing there will be a dance song number in the film too? I've seen a number of Bollywood style 3D films in theaters, each with dance singing numbers which are entertaining.

Watched it in 3D IMAX today and - WOW - this has been the most amazing 3D experience I've had in a long time.
Heck, the movie would be AMAZING even if it wasn't in 3D. It's got everything that imho Top Gun 2 didn't have, and SO MUCH MORE than that!! The movie has all different kinds of fighting - hand-to-hand, commando attack, and, of course, fighter dogfights, and they all look spectacular in 3D IMAX. But of course this being an Indian movie, there are also some nifty sing-and-dance numbers where the 2 leads show off their perfect bodies!! Glorious!! Definitely try and watch this in 3D IMAX if you can, it will blow you away!! |

Fighter was dumb and earnest fun, similar to Anand's War and Pathaan, and the 3D's solid with medium and high medium depth. While I like Anand's frantic style, it's not always ideal with the conversion.

Ouch: theaters here have Fighter 3D, but only at times so late that the movie won't finish until the next day!
Shiva 3D had mid-afternoon showings. That said, when I saw it, my group had the auditorium entirely to ourselves. Do our Indian pals prefer late showings? Is the theater intentionally setting the 3D up to not sell? This is the only 3D flick being shown. |

There is one theater in my area showing this film in 3D and for one showtime only. It is at 5:50 p.m. throughout the weekend. So, not a bad showtime. That being said, I think that it is more likely that the prevailing thought among theater operators is that Fighter will have limited appeal as a foreign film and dubbing. As we saw with Godzilla Minus One, that may not be true. But, when that is the assumption, many showtimes are going to be early and late unfortunately. I hope that Fighter 3D does well and proves them wrong. |

Cinemark has a few 3D movies play this week, including Migration 3D, Fighter 3D, and Aquaman 2 3D, but only 1 3D show time about daily, so not great choices. It's strange how some of these theaters time their 3D shows, sometimes 10 PM at night. I won't visit a theater that late, plus the ticket price doubles. I might have a chance this weekend to check this one out. |

The 3D in Fighter 3D 2024 was good, with mostly medium layering. Nothing amazing, but a nice conversion from Prime Focus (according to the opening credits). No pop outs from what I could tell, since the film is consistently medium layering, in that range from medium to high medium as Creed mentioned. A Good 3D conversion. 7.5/10. Had it had some strong 3D shots that really stood out, I'd raise the rating.
The movie was entertaining and a good amount of cool jet maneuvers and action. Then there were some gun battles and a final fist battle. There are a few dance numbers though they're treated more like visions or flashbacks so they're not too jarring to the more serious tone of the film. The film was good despite some flaws, I liked it. I have yet to be disappointed in the entertainment value of the 3D Bollywood India films I've seen at Cinemark 3D theaters since they started about 7 years ago or so back in 2017 or when that was. I think I've seen 6 3D India films now. It's interesting how they' include some English spoken lines among the Indian language. The action in these films is always impressive IMO, with good to great choreography and pacing. This included. This had a good story too IMO despite some flaws. Focused on the fighter pilot Pat, and his crew needing to work together as a team and go on a rescue mission. |

That's very common for the Indian movies, imho, it's just how many Indians speak. Remember, they were a British colony for a pretty long while. |

Here's something I haven't seen in a long time since Rescuers Down Under in theaters at AMC, and Drive-In Movie theaters... An Intermission. About halfway through the film, a bright white screen "Cinemark Intermission" appeared. No countdown or anything. I thought maybe it'd be 15 minutes, but I was not eager to get up out of my seat. 5 minutes later, a 2 minute countdown appeared, and the movie continued right after that. I think these tend to have intermissions, but this one I really noticed as the screen was so bright so it took me out of the immersion of the film.
I'll say my theater was crowded as these showing often are for the 3D Bollywood 3D films at Cinemark, which is good to see from fans of these films. Quote:
Yes, some shots were closer to strong 3D than others once in awhile. I think you said you saw it in Imax 3D, so you probably had an even larger screen than I got at regular Cinemark 3D (not XD). |

I thought that explosion in 3D stood out quite a bit, more than it actually would in real life. The interior of the jet canopy windows of the faces of the jet pilots were always nice, medium 3D shots. I kept picturing how nice Top Gun 2 Maverick would've looked in 3D with medium to high medium layering as seen here.
I wish these films each got blu ray 3D releases to import. What a loss they're not offering them for 3D fans at home. |
