I disliked it a good deal but I will still get it if it comes in a 4 pack with the other 3 later this year.

I agree with Blu-Benny. It's funny after all the hate that Temple of Doom used to get, it is now put in the same league with the other two.

My least favorite is the Last Crusade, reminds me too much of Raiders. IMHO.

Were they supposed to keep pitting an obviously older Indiana Jones against Nazis again?

I thought number 4 was pretty decent, not my least favorite and it entertains me quite a bit.

My only real gripe is not that it was alien artifacts but that the film showed the aliens and spaceship. I was okay with the skull having powers because other artifacts have supernatural powers; but with the holy grail we didn't see Jesus come out and take his cup back, nor did we see god come down for the ark. It should still be mysterious IMO.

Oh, and one of my favorite parts was when Indy said "So what are you accusing e of, besides surviving an atomic bomb."

Greatest post ever! But I still have to disagree, I was alright with everything in the movie from the fridge scene to the aliens to Shia. It's fiction set in a world that may have slightly different physical law than our own. <--That's how I justify any ridiculousness, except for Charlie's Angels, the films. And I look forward to a possible fifth.

Your examples are terrestrial.

Aliens are not.

Spielberg just spent 3 hours admitting to us that he was a Scientologist.

post 11, your getting slow man.

As for my thoughts on the movie, it was ok, but not great. Wouldn't buy it though.

Yeah, I know.

I must be getting old... but ya'know, it's not the years sweetheart, it's the mileage.

I loved the film. It was so nice to see some classicaly staged Spielberg adventure setpieces. No one films action the way he does and the jungle chase was my favorite setpiece from last year. The film felt in line with the others as far as I'm concerned. I'll never understand the complaints. All of the films are goofy fun.

I rank them as follows:

Raiders/Doom (Love both equally, can't choose.)
Crystal Skull
Last Crusade

Theres a lot of fun to be had with Indy 4 in my opinion (give it a few years and I think most will agree). Ohh, and there are no aliens in Indy 4 (as in extraterrestrial beings), but there are inter-dimensional beings.

Popular opinion is a powerfull thing and I think this movie was unfairly dismissed by a lot of bandwagon jumpers (relax, the movie is far from perfect, you don't have tell me why you hated it, I'm talking about all those other people ). In a couple of years half of those people will "rediscover " this movie and tell you how much fun it is.

I really like this movie and has only gotten better for me with repeated viewings on Blu-ray. I still grimace over the fridge and Tarzan scenes though.
