Just watched the trailer. I think I'm at least 20 years clear of this game's target audience so I won't be too critical. My big question is whether they'll hide all of the main character's ridiculous outfits behind a paywall. Looks like a game that is ripe for MTX.

Seeing as one of the preorder bonuses is an outfit, I think it’s safe to assume that this game will be riddled with cosmetic DLC.

Typically from what I’ve seen from PS Studio game releases since 2020’s PS5 launch is two versions of the game & that’s it. Standard $70US/$90CDN or Deluxe $80US/$100CDN.

Exceptions I’ve seen to this rule,

Gran Turismo 7 (Virtual Currency)
MLB The Show (Virtual Currency)

DLC for Horizon comes to mind as well but I don’t consider DLC as bad as MTX as you are in fact getting good content for a fair price.

Had Sony decided not to interfere with Shift Up on Publication, I definitely could see the game full of MTX as you described.

The main character just looks like a porcelain rendition of an East Asian beauty standard walking around like an AI doll that didn't get a facial expression software update and a permanent Snow filter on her face blurring face pores, texture etc.

Also, the gameplay looks suitable PS3 gen alongside the way the majority of the graphics i saw. Perhaps it's a smaller studio but with how good games can look using Unreal Engine 5 for example, i wasn't impressed visually with this showing at places. I hope the story and gameplay are the real meat and potatoes where things are right, because i still despite those above criticisms want to play it on a discount deal.
The actress/model they made the main character out of is named Shin Jae-Eun. She goes by love_zennyrt on Insta and YouTube

The character in Stellar Blade is not supposed to be human. I guess an Android or AI Robot.

Does anyone know if the game is going to be more like GOD OF WAR or a difficult AF Soulslike game such as NIOH?

So, looks like i was spot on in my assessment as to why the main character came across so bland. Shame, as i feel East Asia has been giving a lot more output in the entertainment industry and games have just gotten started, but their obsession with this "Porcelain Doll" trope kinda killed the reveal of the gameplay. I feel like the best comparison i can give you is "Detroit: Become Human" as a counter example of how robots/AI could have been done meaningfully.

Still stand by the game looking PS3 esque though in gameplay and at times graphically.

I think you have some heavy rose colored glasses on for the PS3 if you think this looks like PS3 visuals.

This IGN Japan interview with the developer mentions the manga Gunmu (Battle Angel Alita) and 80s/90s movies such as Blade Runner were influences, and the game takes inspiration from NieR:Automata, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Bayonetta. Don't know if that helps answer your question or not...

Alright NARMAK. I'm going to need you to relax! You're entitled to your own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts LOL. And FACTUALLY this game looks absolutely better graphically than PS3 era games in every way.

I can see what NARMAK is claiming even if it might not be coming across correctly. This absolutely looks like a PS3/360 gen game with the fidelity cranked up.

And polygon count, and better shadows, and better textures, and better lighting. But yeah

I never pre-order but I'm absolutely will be getting this on release.

A PS3 style game? But with PS4/PS5 era graphics? Bayonetta was PS3 era. I still have the demo of that game on my PS3.

I wonder how many levels this game has to battle through to the final boss.

They’ve given a general length of 25 hours for the story and 50 hours to do everything.

That is a larger game than I expected. That's cool, thanks Diesel. I was surprised to see this is a Sony release now too from this other developer.

Guys, Dyne kinda said what i was trying to imply BUT in my defence, let's look at The Last of Us, Uncharted 3 and even Resistance 3 and you'll remember PS3 graphics were damn good at the end.

To me, the visual prowess on this game at times didn't even look as good as Ghoswire. It's not bad per se, but it also seems a bit visually inconsistent at times from looking pretty damn good, to sometimes looking meh.

I mean, don't get me wrong, an average PS5 games going to look better overall than a general PS3 release being its 2 gens on, but there's something dated it seems almost in the design and visuals for me. Like Dyne said in his comment.

Considering what we get from most big publishers these days, I don't mind some "dated" design. At least there is still some design to appreciate, unlike so many modern games where you just run errands in a giant map for 40+ hours. That said, I'm not a fan of the art design in this one, which dampens my enthusiasm quite a bit. I'm hoping it hits PS+ before my subscription expires so I can try it out.
