Maestro at least has a FYC Blu-ray, though maybe not the easiest/cheapest to track down unless you know awards voters.

They did say Poor Things is getting a Blu-ray though, which I'm grateful for. Hoping it gets a domestic UK disc as it's one of the best films of the past 12 months and I'd very much like to own it without having to pay through the nose for an import. Maybe it'll be an HMV exclusive? Surprised it hasn't had a general home video release announced already (there are far less critically acclaimed films being announced on the format) but Disney have done weirder things.

PS: Disney and Universal are a bit shifty these days with some new releases. I had to quickly snap up both The French Dispatch and Tár in recent months because they were both discontinued for no apparent reason (surely they couldn't have sold through the minimum print-run of 2000-3000+ units in roughly six months).

PPS: I just noticed The Zone of Interest is another title in limbo which is massively depressing...I just saw it yesterday and it needs to be seen by the masses, and it's definitely one I would revisit from time to time. I'm guessing it could go to a third party distributor like Altitude, Mediumrare or Dazzler? Fingers crossed...anything would be brilliant at this rate.

Someone at Fopp (Covent Garden) said that Studio Canal lost the rights to Studio Ghibli's catalogue in 2020 which is why you can't find their films except at expensive prices & the reason that The Boy and the Heron hasn't been released by them.

Ferrari is getting released in Australia on Blu Ray soon.

Whilst there has been no announcements to date I would be very surprised if The Boy and the Heron didn't get a Blu Ray release in Australia.

Some Sauna Sisterhood is out (or coming soon) to DVD only in the US from Kino.

Unless part 1 sold appallingly on BD then part 2 of The Three Musketeers will be on BD from EiV like part 1. It was only in cinemas at Christmas, so going on the 4 month window for part 1 you are looking at April. Most U.K. labels don’t announce titles that far ahead.

I find the U.K. labels outside the boutiques like Indicator, Radiance, Eureka, Arrow, 88 etc. are appalling at promotion and announcing titles in advance, unlike in the US.

What’s a pity for The Three Musketeers is no English friendly UHD, as would look great. Am hoping to see one in the US but their release schedule for the films is much slower than ours. The French releases not being English friendly.

Wait... WHAT?

<checks Amazon UK>

Oh crap, Tár is unavailable to me. Guess I'll gonna have to import the US 4K...

This is insane.

I don’t think part 2 did that well theatrically, only stuck around a week and was put on the smallest screen only one showing a day. But maybe other cities were different.

FWIW, the BBFC recently classified the "Home Entertainment" version of The Three Musketeers: Milady and the listing states that its use is for "Physical media + VOD/Streaming", so I would assume EiV will be putting out a Blu-ray for it.

Seeing as The Zone of Interest picked up some major BAFTA awards last night (Best Film Not in the English Language, Outstanding British Film, Best Sound), let's hope some UK distributor has the sense to release it on Blu-ray.

Poor Thing also won four (Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Production Design, Best Special Visual Effects, Best Costume Design), so let's hope that will help convince Disney to release it over here as well.

The BBFC now only give a single rating for both physical media and streaming combined, you can't just have one of them. So, doesn't guarantee both but in this case would expect a BD from EiV as they released part 1 on BD.

It Lives Inside has a US Blu Ray but i understand it is only a BDR. It has a German and French blu but they won't have English subs for any of the foreign dialogue

Looks like the only other option is Australia.

I'd have thought Acorn might release Suitable Flesh eventually given the Shudder connection.
