I haven't even watched Part One yet. Tempted to wait for the inevitable deluxe edition where they combine everything into a single film.

I'll wait for the 4k trilogy release as well but I'll try to catch each film on MAX as they're released.

Ditto as well.

I think the last DC series was “new 52” (?), which on the whole I thought was fantastic. This new “tomorrowverse” has been super shoddy though. Easy to be patient at 3 x $32.99.

Would be interesting to see how long this combined edition would be... should be almost 4 hours if my calculations are right.

I wouldn't bet on a full long movie but I'm sure a trilogy will come with 3 discs.

Part 2 is almost $50 on Amazon. That's not happening for me lol I'm sure studios are forcing steelbooks on people now just to charge more too.

Why not?

They edited parts 1&2 of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: The Long Halloween, and Death and Return of Superman into single 2½ hour features.

As he alluded to, this is a 3-parter. It seems unlikely they would edit it into a ~4.5 hour long movie.

I'm for all cuts. I would love this three parter. Up untill now they've only done two parts and then a combined feature. So I'm all for the 3 parts combined into a long film version. I'm honestly hoping they do. I've never had a problem swaping discs. Also I till love film box sets. As long as both parts and combined versions are available I'm happy.

I'm just going to wait and see what they do. If it's one long movie I'll get that, or a box set I'll get that, or nothing I'll get all 3 individually. until then I'm streaming lol

I don't recall disliking the first part - from what I recall, wasn't it kind of a "Flash" story and then the Crisis stuff came at the end?

After willing myself to not doze off during Part 2, I do not really get this. I need to re-read the source material, because I sure do not remember it being this much of a snooze fest. There's no cohesive "story" here and it's sure not much to look at. Is it a step above flash animation? I don't know. Not that that's a new complaint with this round of DC animated movies, but at least the other stuff didn't feel like it was just stalling for time.

The best thing about it is the steelbook art (the bar was low), but to add insult to injury this is the first steelbook I've received that completely fell apart as soon as the shrink-wrap came off.

It doesn't stream rentably for 2 weeks so that's when I'll watch it.

I'm going to pass on this whole trilogy for the time being. The more I learn about it the more they seem intent on inserting things that aren't even in the source material, an especially odd choice given the nearly impossible task of covering the large amount of material to begin with.

Between those issues, changes that make little to no sense, and the fact that the Tomorrow Verse animated films were underdeveloped and hit or miss to begin with this seems more like an exercise in what not to do than how to do "justice" to one of the greatest comic events of all time.
