EDIT: I just went to play Savage Moon and apparently they added a bunch of options that fix a bunch of the things I thought were problems... like the fixed cursor and auto-zoom. Turning off the fixed cursor also effectively makes the map 2D too! No idea when these options were added or maybe they were always there and I'm just dumb. =P

I'm going to have to play a few rounds with the new settings and see how it works out.
