Try a used epson like the EX7240 for about $100 from Ebay or elsewhere. Those are so sharp due to the low res they make HD streaming look pretty good.

I got a few of them for my church and they love them. Amazing value and real fun. I think I'll get one for myself.

Watched Dune Part 2 in Dolby Cinema. It was a fantastic experience and the 4K disc should be demo-material upon release. No, I did not buy the worm popcorn vessel. It was almost $30 and I could not justify the purchase.

After MAXXXINE, this is my most anticipated release of the year... I'm (not so) patiently awaiting the UHD release...

I thought I did, but first I have to find out how you're Streaming. My 100/100Mbps comes in straight from the Fiber to a Switch, and out an Ethernet Port to my Sony UHD TV Ethernet Port supplying all the Bandwidth. The Streaming Quality is Rock Solid. You have a JVC Projector how does it receive the Streaming Content? With Apps in the JVC or through your Panasonic 9000 Apps, and are they connected with Ethernet? Do you use Wireless Streaming Devices?

Streaming quality is “rock solid” and “fantastic”. SMH. Just keep adding highly subjective term to your vocabulary. You know full well that other than 1.5 Gbps symmetrical internet I connect everything hard wired to the modem.

I think that I see the problem: lack of emphatic capitalization.

Have to ask... if you a bit impatient about seeing a film, why not see it in the cinema? I get if mostly you don't care to, but in this case it seems to have more downsides. Too many bad experiences? Plus, you have a GT Laser cinema in your city!? Man, the 1.43 aspect ratio for Dune part 1 was really immersive. There is no way of getting that elsewhere.

I saw it IMAX 70mm Friday and it was truly one of the most awe inspiring movie experiences I've ever had. Easily one of the best sci-fi movies ever made and it will be hard to top for the rest of the year.

I've yet to see the worm popcorn vessel in person. The IMAX here is Regal, but we'll be seeing it again in our local Big D at AMC. Still won't be purchasing that abomination though lol.

I can’t wait to see it at the cinema, and then own it. Pearl was one of my favourite films of last year. Really enjoyed X too.

How are you not using a modem at all from the fibre coming into your house? And why do I need to stream to my projector? Of course using HDMI. Only toy projectors have streaming option. I don’t use toys for my home theatre.

If you have internet then you have a modem. Unless you are using cellular for your internet, which we know is not the case. How do you not understand basic networking?

He could be using a "gateway", which in this case is just another name for a modem/router combo in a single unit.

"A gateway serves as an “All-In-One” solution that combines the functions of both a router and a modem."

He could also be using an Optical Network Terminal.

"While a modem deals with conversions between analog and digital signals, an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is designed to convert fiber optic signals into digital signals for a router via a wired connection. In areas where fiber can be delivered directly to your home, you most likely have an ONT that connects your local home network to the internet."

True, I have the same thing. But it's still a modem. An "expert" should know that.

We don’t use “fancy names” here in Canada. We still call a modem a modem.

I had posted saying most likely ONT but then saw your post so I deleted mine.
