This year is the 45 year anniversary of The Motion Picture, correct?

Wonder if we'll also be getting an anniversary steelbook release for that later this year? Or will they hold off for the 50th anniversary?

Doing anniversary steelbook releases would be a nice way to trickle these out so we don't get hit with 6 steelbooks all at once.

Oi. I guess I can sell my slipcover set eventually if these all come out and I like the art.

Going to be an expensive year if they’re releasing all the movies. I’d been hoping for a steelcase box set for the original 10.

Paramount is doing this steelbook rollout for ST just like they did for Indiana Jones.
One at a time with OG art no doubt.

I’m weak, and didn’t even get all the standard 4K’s. These could be iconic.

I have all the standard 4Ks but I’m weak and definitely buying these if they have theatrical artwork.

Honestly, I have all the previous steelbooks, which are meh with the gold borders but at least do have original poster art, and also the 4K discs. Assuming they are releasing these for all the films, they’d have to blow me away to buy all of them again. Thankfully I got all of the others ones cheap and sold off the blu-rays to keep the 4K costs (all bought during good sales) reasonable if I do repurchase them. Either way, it seems strange that they are starting with the third film.

They're releasing this for the 40th anniversary of the film. No other SB is planned at the moment.

I'm good with the existing Star Trek 4k releases.

If they really are just releasing III as a standalone with no others, that’s such a bizarre choice. I know I have no interest in piecemealing these together over time with no matching theme. I had been assuming that this one just leaked before the others.

Same here. I have both collections with slips inside cases. I'm good with Star Trek on 4k for the foreseeable future.

Not sure how I feel about this when I got all the pre current reboot films with nice slips with original art. Too little too late? Instead should have done Jack Ryan films with original art Steel books.

I would love to have the full set in steelbook but like many others, I have a full set with slips in fantastic condition. This really needed to be done around release as I am very hesitant on purchasing these again.

Amazon placeholder page. We'll probably get artwork within a week or so.

I love that BN listing: Star Trek Iii. Giving me Ricky Ricardo vibes... Star Trek ay-yi-yi!

I feel like they made Spock look like a Transformer.

It’s the art from the theatrical teaser poster.
