The CGI animals in Lion King are the most realistic I've seen so far. Did they attach motion capture dots to the zoo Lions for that film? I'm not sure, but the movements are convincing most times. The movement is a big part of it too. Nothing robotic or over-animated.

If this is going to be live-action, I hope they have the same team working on the CGI animals. I remember the days when real animals were in the films, but CGI is much easier for the real animals not to be bothered by the stress of fimmaking.

At least have them emote, though. Like, Simba's ears should have folded back when he heard the wildebeests coming, because that's what happens when a cat feels scared or threatened!

Yeah, that would be cool to see. I don't remember that in the film but I'd have to watch it again. Like have the whole cub curl back with his front arms forward, back arched, ears back and hissing for a big cat Lion.

There will be a CGI bear in this film I think. Rabbits, Raccoons, etc. Deer will raise their tail, and their ears will twitch a bit, hooves stomping, head quickly turning and alert movements. Hopefully this film captures that.
