It is not an attack, there must be some reason that you would post 501 times the phrase “it’s all digital” on this site. I did not bother with “played from a server.”

I am a tech person that does Boolean (binary), understands DCT entropy codecs, etc. and have explained to you several times “it’s all digital” and “played from a server” means absolutely nothing in terms of content A/V quality. Having done so I find it insulting that you would continue with posting these statements.

With two family members having Alzheimer’s (now deceased) I am quite familiar with it. A constant repeating of questions and statements was one condition they had in common. So if you do not have this affliction then you are just plain trolling. If there is a medical condition then I hope the very best for you and hope you get the best treatment available.

Posted in this thread before so the following is redundant:

Boolean here
binary here
DCT entropy codecs here

Saw this was down to $14.94 on Amazon so had to grab it. Great show if you've never seen it.

More film noir arrived today:

Volumes 1-5 of these sets are all OOP. I now own volumes 3-5, but the first two volumes will cost me a pretty penny to acquire, but at least I have the option to buy them.

I very much doubt that any of the movies included in these sets are available on streaming or EST.

I have that on BD. I bought it for like $4.95 brand new from Hamilton Book a couple of years ago. They have some good deals on media every now and then.

I have all the Columbia Noir released so far and the first Universal Noir set. Need to get the second Universal Noir and preorder the new upcoming Columbia Noir.

Rented News of the World on 4K disc from GameFly and just watched it. It was awesome. Awesome film, awesome 4K disc. GameFly gives me the option to keep it for $11.69. I think I will.

Call it what you want, it's a File on a Disc put that File on a Streaming Server and the Quality is the same. I like to keep it simple...KISS. You might fool the others, but you are only intelligent in your own mind. With Fiber Symmetrical Speeds, and todays Graphical Tecnology that same Disc File can be put on a Streaming Server for the highest Quality Streaming. The Streaming Server can adjust for the optimal Bitrate of the users Network!

It isn't his intelligence that anyone questions of that I can assure you. You complain about how wrong it is to insult people only to then insult people yourself thereby proving that you are a hypocrite no better than those whom you would accuse.

Symmetrical internet has absolutely NOTHING to do with the quality of video streaming as there is no upload speed requirement listed for ANY streaming service provider despite your baseless fever dream hallucination to the contrary. I could increase my upload speed five fold tomorrow and it would not make a damn bit of difference.

What *can* be done and what is actually done are two vastly different things. Streaming quality does not equal disc quality and that is an objective and verifiable fact. That is not to say that streaming is terrible, but it is in no way equivalent to the quality that what we get from the comparable disc format. You can tell yourself differently as many times as you need to hear it, but that won't make it true.

You have settled for an inferior format for watching your films, just own it. Streaming will never match 4K disc, the data centres are now under huge pressure to account for their energy usage and new legislation is being prepared, now that even more capacity is needed for A.I.
They aren’t suddenly going to offer 30-50 Mbps bit rates, they are going to go the other way, shaving more and more and relying on the latest codecs, and of course, in the future they will rely on A.I upscales to jump from 720p to 4K, saving more space and hiding compression artefacts. The last part is a positive, but in no way will it equal a true 4K experience on disc, not even close.

I'd allotted a weekend there at the end of June on the off chance that wife and I would be able to take a "tour of the cobbles". We had to cut out Paris (that's the kind of girl I married) in order to facilitate this, but luckily the gambit paid off. The dates for the tours in June were just made available and I was able to book.

My kids obviously have no interest in the tour, so I booked a late afternoon slot thinking that we could all have breakfast together and then my kids could site see the city while we are off for a few hours. I would very much like to treat myself and my kids to one of these "Full English" fry ups that are referenced on Corrie so often...while at the same time picking a place that may have a varied enough menu to suit my wife's .... more healthy bent (largely vegan). The priority is definitely on the authenticity of the former, but if i can have it all..and you have some local expertise...I'm all ears
Unfortunately I'm not going to be of much help to you I'm afraid Crutzulee. The city centre has changed enormously over the years, and I moved away to my present location back in 1999. During those 25 years, there's been much redevelopment across the city.

I used to work in the centre back in the mid to late-80's, and briefly in the early 90's, and nearly all the places I used to pop into for a meal have all but disappeared. There was a small restaurant in Piccadilly I used to frequent when I worked here which served cracking breakfasts too, but that's also gone.

There really are lots of places to eat and drink, but I can't offer any personal recommendations as I haven't visited them due to me rarely going into Manchester these days, apart from a couple of shops I like to visit when time allows me.

If it's of any help, here are a couple of links (in case you haven't already seen them) which offer a tourists guide to Manchester, including places to eat and drink:

http://visitmanchester.com/

https://www.visitengland.com/things-to-do/manchester

https://secretmanchester.com/best-pl...st-manchester/

The Koffee Pot is mentioned here, and this one has been here for many years. However if you're visiting Corrie in Salford Quays, this one will be a bit off the beaten track for you as it's on Oldham Street near Piccadilly and Ancoats. Oldham Street is virtually unchanged since I was last here. Koffee Pot are well known for their Full English breakfasts, and I did come here once or twice way back years ago.

Statements like this are the reason no one takes you seriously and give you so much grief. Wendell, Vilya and many others continuously point out that your proclamations are fundamentally false, but you just keep repeating them no matter how much evidence and facts are presented to you. Wendell was actually trying to give you the benefit of the doubt with his Alzheimer's theory. The only other 2 possibilities are:

1.)You get your kicks trolling people (again, benefit of the doubt here).
2.) You are incapable of processing information or learning anything new. Your mind is on a constant loop of falsehoods and delusions that cannot be penetrated by even the most concrete facts.

So us hypothesizing that it is anything but my second theory is us really trying to rationalize how one person could be so immune from learning anything. It is us trying to be as kind as possible. I promise.

That would only be true IF it were the exact same identical file being played, with no compromises one way or the other.

But that is NOT the case. Streaming files are smaller, more compressed, and do not offer the same quality. In other words, it is NOT the same file. It may be the same movie, but it is a different, smaller file compared to the disc.

Sure, streaming can look good under the right circumstances, but the same movie on a disc of the same resolution (assuming all other factors being equal... i.e. the same transfer of the movie being the basis for both the 4K disc and the 4K stream) will win every time. This is simply a fact. And no amount of you saying otherwise will change that.

I have posted quite a bit of technical info in this thread. Here is the difference, most readers here, regardless of their background, seem to get the gist of what I have posted, you do not. Anyone at anytime is free to question the numbers I post here. I have never tried to make it a mystery of how I derived at my numbers and have posted several times the devices used along with the process of using said devices.

Keep in my you are totally free to post your own set of numbers, screen grabs, charts, etc.

People can click the RED in my signature line to see what my system is comprised of, been that for 19 years. Sometimes there may be a lag in adding or removing devices.
