As someone who doesn't have a 4K setup (yet), I would much rather get a 2K disc option for the 4K restoration than THE TWO JAKES. Might just be me, though!

I have been future proofing a bit but I can't say I'm compelled to rush to make the 4K jump, especially given all the problems I've heard about the format.

The 4K version that's been available on streaming for the last few years looks like a sharpened/noise reduced upscale of the Blu-ray. Hopefully this physical release will fare better, but it's Paramount so I don't have much hope.

One of my most wanted Paramount upgrades. With OUATITW and now this, I can only hope Sunset Boulevard is around the corner.

Prioritize a 4K player then, it's not super expensive and you can start enjoying the discs right now, prior to getting a 4K TV.

The format doesn't have anything "wrong" with it. It's the same stuff that's been an issue with Blu discs. There's been an uptick in scratched discs but that's affecting both formats as a whole pressed at that one facility.

Just rebought the blu- it was one I'd lent out and never got back. Then I was thinking I'd like to finally get around to The Two Jakes since I've never seen it. Guess this'll do!

Scratched discs, player issues, all the technical stuff that has led to delays/replacements. I know these things come with 2K as well but 4K appears to be to a greater degree.
