Keep an eye on Orbit/Diabolik/Grindhouse when they get their stock~Might still be able to get one with slip

The Last Slumber Party

It looks more like film than the 4Ks of Aliens, The Abyss & True Lies!

I first watch this streaming on youtube or someplace over 10 years ago.

Blu-ray release is great.

Could have used a fan commentary from the Hysteria Continues.

God, I need a F#€*%$¥ Valium!

Wow it even has the original VHS version as a bonus feature!

It really brought back some memories - I hadn't seen TLSP since the Terror Tuesday back in 2016 where the included interview with Jan Jensen took place.

Man, I miss having easy access to the Drafthouse.

For probably about seven years (until Covid shutdowns interrupted things temporarily), a group of friends and I were there practically every single week for Terror Tuesdays. Such a great series, and among my most-missed activities after I left Austin.

The houston alamo does their horror night on friday. I also pretty much went weekly until covid kinda kicked the habit. They even let me pick the movie a couple of times since I went so often.

Had a look at Mondo Digital's review of The Last Slumber Party this past weekend:

https://www.mondo-digital.com/lastslumber.html

My copy is on the way (along with another Partner label title). Looking forward to seeing it more after reading the above review and your comments. I'm hoping AGFA have another slasher from the same time period in the works.

So excited for this one. I absolutely love vintage regional advertising/film/drive-in ephemera. I could watch that shit all day. I still have all six volumes on dvd-r that I ordered direct from Something Weird ages ago. God Bless Mike and Lisa for preserving all this stuff and AGFA for putting discs like this out and helping me free up some much needed shelf space.

Intermission has to be the fastest selling AGFA title of all time? It was completely sold out on VS in just a handful of hours.

The smaller print runs are making them fly. I was going to wait on this, but there were around 80 left when I checked so I grabbed it.

Totally missed out on the Bleeding Skull release though. 1000 slips just isn't enough and it creates instant FOMO, as the first sale puts it in "countdown".

It’ll be back in stock sans slip. Kind of glad it sold out so fast, though. I’m such a mark for vintage ephemera mixtape releases like this and it lets AGFA know that there’s clearly a rabid customer base for them.

Yes, this is the takeaway here

It appeared they sold out of the slipcover version in less than an hour! I seriously thought it was a possible mistake on the VS website at first because I just found out about the release around 2 hours after AGFA posted it on their Instagram and they were already gone, and at that time, the standard version was down to under 500 copies left!

I bought the standard release though, because like many of you, I love this kind of stuff. I just wish they had done more than 1000 slips for it. VS slipcovers are always worth it in my opinion. High quality and they look so damn good.

I'm hoping they do the other similar series ones that Something Weird Video released on video back in the day.

The Hysteria Continues released a commentary for this on their Patreon towards the end of last year, in case you’re interested.

I am such a mark for vintage drive-in snipes, ads and cinematic ephemera. I can watch them all day long and have always hoped that the old Something Weird releases would eventually get an updated release. Mike and Lisa put in so much hard work over the years tracking down all those old reels and preserving them when they easily could have rotted away into obscurity and I’m so ****ing happy to see this release finally become a reality and judging by how fast this sold, it’s obvious I’m not the only one who feels this way. Thank you Mike, Lisa and AGFA for keeping the little things like this from being lost forever 🤘🏻

Missed the initial offering, but just snagged a copy off Diabolik about an hour ago. I knew waiting would pay off. I do feel bad for anyone that paid EBay prices for this one.

It’s long gone. It was in stock when I was in checkout around 3:15pm. Down to 7 copies by the time my checkout was successful. Don’t reckon those last few stuck around long after.

****ing hell. I’ve been checking everyday for weeks on all the boutiques sites and still missed it. Oh well, time to move on. At least these misses are curing me of my need to keep up with all these limited releases. If I want it bad enough I’ll buy it used. Otherwise I probably don’t need it.
