Yeah, picture quality is one thing and we can generally overlook a less than stellar print, but prints that are censored or missing audio is another matter. Regardless, just be up front and honest about these releases in the future, please Dave. If the print you only have access to is censored, then a simple disclaimer would go a long way. In future, though, I am going to avoid any further drive in releases until some reviews are posted. I will just stick to the mainline releases.

As far as the Italian audio in that Golden Triangle movie, couldn't Dark Force have just made some subtitles for that section?

So that's what all this fuss is about because someone asked on FACEBOOK what the audio options were. We were very lucky to get any audio with this rarity. And its not some crap martial arts movie. This thing is amazing, shot great with war scenes and everything. These kind of releases of this rarity should be expected not to be perfect and very lucky to be uncovered period.

Bolded statement would have be the best way to manage expectations. Even if the Italian soundtrack portion is 10-15min long, people won't care as much if only 1min / 6 lines of that part of the soundtrack actually has dialogue.

If you just tell people "10-15min of Italian audio," people are thinking worst case scenario of people conversing back and forth for 15 minutes straight in Italian with no translation.

Not a deal breaker for me, IIRC there was another italian film this happened with for Dark Force that wasnt a big deal. Personally I find stuff like the stretching distortion found in VCI's "Basher Box" throughout the whole film much more of a dealbreaker than a few untranslated lines of dialogue.

This is a collector's market. Collectors aren't your average Walmart Joes who don't care that there are differences between DVD and 4K. Transparency will go a LONG way to appeasing collector sensibilities and lessen bellyaching. It shouldn't take fans on a message board to point this out to people who run labels

One could rip the audio from the english soundtrack of a uncut VHS. Yes, not perfect audio but if it just a few second it would work IMO.

There is no uncut English version on VHS. Our version is longer than any VHS version out there. Maybe you were confusing this one for the other Golden Triangle.

It was a mistake to answer the question regarding the audio on the Facebook post. Agreed if it got interpreted as 10 to 15 minutes of Italian audio with no translation, that is another story. This case doesn't affect the movie one drop and extremely brief. And things so minor like that we don't even feel the need to have to mention. More significant issues we would definitely make mention of it.

No, it is the right version. Have you even checked-out the UK or Swedish VHS release?

Received Golden Triangle today. Can confirm the bit of Italian dialog is just a few seconds in one scene and (while I can't say for sure since I don't speak Italian) it seems pretty easy to figure out even without subtitles I think. It should be no problem for all but the absolute pickiest of people. Certainly not worth any big controversary.

The source print is rough but that's no surprise and most people will probably just find that adds to the charm here.

The movie isn't great, but it is a lot of fun. Plenty of action, a little sleaze. It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect and most people are gonna have a pretty good idea if they'll dig it or not even if blind buying.

A little odd that the Slipcover displays "4K ULTRA HD + BLU-RAY" at the top of it, since it only includes the single 4K UHD disc. I'm guessing maybe that was for those who want to just add in their old Blu-ray...
