The payoff for Jared Goff’s 2023 season…. he joins the 50 mil a year club. The Lions gave him a 4 yr, $212 mil extension ($170 mil guaranteed). He is now the second highest paid QB behind Joe Burrow. Insane.

I would say yes it is insane, but i think the cap is just at a point right now were it just doesn't matter anymore.

2023: $224,800,000 ($16,600,000 increase)
2022: $208,2000,000 ($25,700,000 increase)
2021: $182,500,000 ($15,700,000 decrease)
2020: $198,200,000 ($10,000,000 increase)
2019: $188,200,000 ($11,000,000 increase)
2018: $177,200,000 ($10,200,000 increase)
2017: $167,000,000 ($11,730,000 increase)
2016: $155,270,000 ($11,990,000 increase)
2015: $143,280,000 ($10,280,000 increase)
2014: $133,000,000 ($9,400,000 increase)
2013: $123,600,000 ($3,000,000 increase)
2012: $120,600,000 ($225,000 increase)
2011: $120,375,000
2010: Uncapped

Teams no longer need to worry about the financials because the league just waves a wand and adds 15+ million to the cap and keeps the good teams good. We need to start calling the NFL cap a soft one because it no longer requires much balance or intelligence to make the numbers work.

Netflix deal now official....

On Dec. 25, 2024, we’ll be the global home of the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games.
And mark your calendar for Christmas Day in 2025 and 2026 when we’ll be streaming at least one holiday game each year as part of this three-season deal.

https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articl...mes-on-netflix

rumor is 1 of the Christmas games is KC/PIT.

nfl schedule update which has been a reliable x account with the leaks over the yrs has like 40% of the sched in already LOL.

Where are we with this now? Some games will be on Prime, some on ESPN, some on NFL Network, and now you will need a Netflix account for the Christmas games? Ohhh, and Peacock is still in there somewhere, too, maybe.

The more fans love the NFL, the more the league shows them that it simply doesn't care enough about them not to exploit said love.

Streaming is where its going
MLB just did a deal with roku for sunday am games

Yea peacock just has 1 game this yr wk1 friday brazil cause amzn has the saturday night wildcard game this yr
Technically you dont need amzn since all TNF is free on twitch
I just run an hdmi cable from my laptop to tv & its works perfect.

FWIW, I also remember a lot of the ESPN MNF games also being on ABC, as well.

It's still annoying. I'm probably in the minority, but I won't jump through hoops to watch the games on the streaming platforms. I will survive not seeing them live (especially the TNF fiascos). I can wait for the highlights, if I care enough about the particular match-up in question.

Yea last yr due to the writers strike almost every MNF was on ABC too.
But with that over rumor is it will now only be up to 10 on ABC the rest just ESPN.
I bet$$ so i watch as many as i can cause otherwise i feel like i might be missing out on something.

Ray Rice was caught on video assaulting his ex-wife (!) FFS and he got a slap on the wrist from both the courts and the NFL. I highly doubt this Rice will get anymore than that regardless of the evidence.

Why should he, his comments were part of a tribute to his wife, people who cant take the time to read what he said, within the context of speaking at a catholic school can seriously take a long walk off a bridge somewhere imo!

Yeah, how dare him have a normal brain and think he can get away with speaking of God and family and not have it be something controversial!

Has more to do with his alleged comment that he misses the days when women had more children than ideas and the only me too was one woman saying she's ready to have her 4th kid and the woman next to her says me too.
