Eventually. Although we haven't gotten any standard releases of Anime Limited titles, as of yet, in the US.

Any predictions on what the price might be for Plus?

I'm thinking slightly lower than Great Pretender but not sure because of that book in particular.

I'm thinking between $150 - $200, the clunky design doesn't help lower the price. Not expecting lower but I'd like to be wrong.

Looks like it one of those books with sleeves for the blurays built in releases.

Though for better or worse, the licensee almost never gets any say about what transfer they get to use.

We got B: The Beginning, but that was years ago, so not sure if it really counts.

What are you guys' thoughts on Zero in general? I watched it about 10 years ago and don't remember much about it other than being a bit underwhelmed. The Roy Focker cameo was cool I guess?

Forgot about that one. The standard was released concurrently with the LE. While I think Macross Plus will be a better seller over Bartender and To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts, it also depends on the price point of the Ultimate Edition. Anime fans are notoriously cheap and while longtime fans may jump regardless, a lot of people are going to hold out for a sale or hope a standard release eventually comes.

This Ultimate Edition comes packaged in a large rigid slipcase adorned with the title’s most iconic visuals, within which is contained an immense and comprehensive hardback book chronicling the history, production and creative efforts behind Macross Plus – from interviews with its creators through to character designs, background and key animation artwork, this is the world of Macross Plus as you’ve never seen it before.

Also included with the set is a series of nine art cards celebrating all of the title’s key visuals, plus an A3 “concert promotion” poster serving as an homage to virtual pop idol Sharon Apple.

Disc contents

This attention to detail also extends to the contents of the discs themselves – as well as containing both the movie and OVA versions of Macross Plus, an anime praised as a “visual tour de force” by Forbes, these discs also contain a wealth of options and bonus content to allow fans to fully explore the title. Features on the disc includes the full Manga Entertainment dub for the OVA version of the show, as well as the Bandai Visual dub of OVA #4, while both Neil Nadelman’s Manga Entertainment subtitles and Bandai Visual’s subtitle options are present for the Movie Edition. Availability and additional editions

In North America, the Macross Plus Ultimate Edition will be available exclusively via the Crunchyroll Store, while UK customers will be able to purchase the product exclusively from the AllTheAnime.com storefront. Pre-orders for the release will open on Thursday, June 6th at 5PM BST / 12PM EST / 9AM PST. In France, customers will be able to purchase an exclusive Macross Plus Ultimate Edition French version limited to 100 units through our AllTheAnime.fr online shop, with pre-orders opening at the same time.

Additional editions of Macross Plus will also be available for France and other European territories to follow, with more details to be confirmed later in the year.

So there still won't be a dub for the movie edition of Plus? I'm interested in the ultimate edition anyway but the fact that the movie still has no dub, the definitive version at that, is really disappointing. You'd think since Anime Limited got that dub done for A Place Farther Than The Universe they'd do one for Macross Plus but I guess there's some weird logistical thing holding it up or something. Just a little gutted about that.

They specify subtitles for the movie, but not for the OVA... will this be like the Japanese release and there will be no subs for the OVA?
