Default Night Court(1984)

So who else is a fan?

9 seasons for any show is a good run.

I watched Night Court during its original run. The reruns also aired every day when I would get home from school on WGN, good times. Still love the show. Can you imagine if aired today with the Dan Fielding character as he was then?

I've been rewatching the old show since buying it on iTunes (before there was an "HD" version, so the image is bad). Most of the jokes would not be okay today, lol. A lot of stuff they make fun of is off limits now.

Much love for Night Court. Always thought it was better than Cheers... annoyed me that Cheers got a series set released and Night Court was stuck at season 3 for ages until WB started their MOD program.

Really wanted Harry and Christine to get together. Wish they didn't force that last season and had Dan chasing after Christine in the finale.

Didn't realize there was new version, so I put the year for the original series.

I watched the show for the first time back in the 90s, I used to love it and just started a rewatch, it's still funny.

I bought the complete series from amazon a few months ago and it's not MOD.

It is a shame how many cast members have passed away.

What does the picture quality of that Amazon set look like (for DVD)? Good, bad, OK? I bought one season, at WalMart I think, and I think it looks like kinda bad VHS, not what I'd call good DVD.

I'm only on season 2 (I'm a very slow watcher) and the picture quality is not great, I'm not an expert and don't know exactly how to describe it but it looks kinda soft, not sharp. It definitely has a VHS look. I just checked a random 6th season episode, same look.

I'm still glad I got the entire series on disc, I don't think they're going to remaster it.

I had forgotten just how funny and satisfying this show was. Watching on IFC, I was laughing out loud several times during each episode that I saw! The guest appearances were often better than the already-brilliant show! I needed this show right now.

Dan is high on the list. Smartly written, and very contemporary at the time. But the entire cast is excellent.

It was one of my two all-time favorite shows back in the day (Quantum Leap was the other one).
I stopped watching around season 5 or so. Don't remember why now. I mean, it was a while ago.

I haven't watched an episode since 1993, or earlier.
Not sure I want to go back, because it left such a strong impression on me. I was a HUGE fan.

Also, Markie Post was somethin' else in those earlier seasons. Whew!
Took me a while to not hate Fielding, but then one day, I started to like him. After a while, I really liked his character. I believe it was due to an episode where he showed some real dramatic levity, and treated a woman with proper respect instead of being - well - Fielding. But because of that episode, I started to see him in a different light. It was just enough of a push for me to appreciate him more from that moment, onward.

But Richard Moll will always be Bull. I watched Babylon5 a couple months ago, and he was in an episode. Playing some tough bad guy. I was like, "nah. That's not a tough guy. It's Bull Shannon!"
RIP cast members.

He also played the first immortal bad guy in the premiere episode of Highlander the Series.

Yeah, I was going to directly mention that, but then I started thinking about all the OTHER guest appearances he had over the years and thought "Eh. One example is enough. The most recent example."

What's funny is the HIGHLANDER episode was the first time I recall seeing him in something that wasn't Night Court... and you referenced it.
