Yeah, not a great week for BD...

But still, not a lot new...

While Heroes and Blades are not at the top, they are still contributing and since 300 is still top of the charts we can only assume that volumes have been decreasing over the last few weeks...

I must say I'm a little disappointed with the numbers, and my prediction was way off. I was hoping for a better bounce back. Oh well, I still expect the BD proportion to increase to > 70:30 from now until Christmas.

Nielsen/VideoScan Numbers ending September 9th

http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/ques...1607/index.php

WE: BD-60% HDD-40% YTD: BD-66% HDD-34% SI: BD-61% HDD-39%

^^^Updated original post with the new info. I say, I think the numbers were right around what I expected them to be, given the releases for that week. (dangit, just 1% off as I predicted 61:39)

I think from here on out, the numbers will increase significantly in Blu-ray's favor.

i agree, but when transformers comes out it will be close. that is the only week hd dvd should get close at all and maybe even edge out blu-ray for the first time in a really really long time. the following weeks after that will be closer then normal but then youll see blu back on top where it belongs. Shrek will have a impact as well, but maybe not as much.

No one should question that Transformers is going to be huge, and it's going to have legs, at least 300 levels.

The key is that there should be a ton of really big Blu titles out there at the same time. Let's say transformers is 100, if we can keep 7+ titles in the 50-70 range that effectively dwarfs and neutralizes it.

What's going to be hilarious is Potter week. Given that they're coming as singles as well, I fully expect it to be almost entirely potter (2 giftsets, then Prisoner, goblet and phoenix for the "I hate CHris Columbus" crowd. doubled down for 2 formats)

Given the Christmas lineup, that's extremely likely

none of these even broke the top ten:

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City (Sony BMG)
Delta Farce (Lionsgate)
Nip/Tuck: The Complete Fourth Season (Warner)
Remember the Titans (Buena Vista)
