I think it's a crime to reprint and sell old VC-1 blu-ray's in 2024 yes, it could do with a 4K UHD or a least a 2K or 4K restoration even on standard AVC Blu-ray the jump in detail would be amazing... Warner Brothers at this point are becoming the worst at re-releasing titles with love these days I was hoping Jackie Chan's Rumble in the Bronx released by HMV last year was going to be a new scan but it was not however, black levels were better but not enough for me, to hold on to it I returned it back to HMV as I keep the receipt.

Fingers crossed though maybe, just maybe, this and Cobra are NEW scans..... Highly unlikely tho,

Yes, agree completely.

I bought the old UK blu release back when it came out in 2009 which seems like a lifetime ago, then sold it playtrade as I bought the Stallone and also Seagal Warner box sets when they came out in 2012.

Then eventually charity shopped the box sets and bought all of the original discs via US import blus from eBay.

Why are Warner releasing this on steelbook now, 15 years after the original UK Blu release? Can’t see them selling more than a few hundred copies surely?

Yeah, if this had a NEW 4K restoration scan then this would sell MUCH better but with no info at present on the transfer it's still a mystery however, I doubt it's a new scan shame this is a classic 1980's action film. Warner are the worst company with restoring their old titles and when they do they use a lot of DNR

Amazon France has shipped Tango and Cash and Cobra. According to DHL it should be to me on Monday. I have 3 copies of each coming. Did a little group buy with 2 of my friends.

I've had this set since 2017. It was definitely a purchase well spent. Plenty of hours of 80's/90's fun

Both if mine arrived yesterday from them. Very happy

Tango & Cash blu-ray disc timestamp is early 2009, yes the 2024 steelbook is reusing the same disc and as such the same master than the 2009 BR version. I guess it's the same thing for Cobra, really a shame since both Tango & Cash and Cobra could benefit from a 4K UHD at best or a 4K master on a BR

I wonder if this will get released in another country. It'd be nice to have for whenever a UHD is released with junk artwork.

Well even ordering 6 steelbooks doesn't guarantee being shipped in a box. One of those cardboard mailers. Im working right now so I can't check for 5 hours or so. Hoping for the best.

I just got mine along with Cobra from Amazon Italy. Also available on Amazon France. Beautiful artwork and I will save these steelbooks for a UHD if they ever get released.

Mine too. I forgot to update my post from the 10th. Only issue was an all 3 Tangos and 1 of the Cobras had loose discs.

I haven’t checked with my buddies who got the other copies. But I took the 1 Cobra that was loose and obviously a Tango. Luckily both played just fine.
