I could not disagree more. Re releases are the PERFECT way to fill out a lack of games and are very easy and cheap to produce.

I agree, re-releases are better than nothing. It's not as though studios will be halting new game development, they will simply put a few people on to the port dev

I'm a little concerned & scratching head because we just got a re-made game for PS4 & honestly I'm thinking Mass Effect Trilogy will be next.

Don't get me wrong I would be 100% in favor of EA re-releasing the ME trilogy, but having played it on PC with max settings I can safely say that the improvements would be minimal. What would be awesome is if they removed the linearity from ME2 and ME3 (this was due to the 360 version having two discs) so that you could reqruit all squadmates in any order, while in ME3 give players the option to tackle Tachanka and Rannoch in either order.

Far Cry 4 takes place in the Himalayas -- rumor
Internet super sleuth Superanuation has claimed that the next installment in the Far Cry franchise will be set in or around the Himalayas.

Rumors regarding development of Far Cry 4 have been doing the rounds since early this year, with the LinkedIn profile of a Ubisoft Shanghai employee stating the sequel is in the works at the studio.

Check out Superannuation’s Twitter comments below (via VG247), which took place earlier this month but have only just come to light.

Far Cry 4 sounds super boring from the rumors. It's the third game more or less transposed to the Himalayas or adjacent locale + monsters(?)

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I just started playing this via our PS5 PS Plus subscription. Far Cry 4 was my first of the series, but I've really enjoyed each installment since. But, I had really low expectations, considering this was originally a PS3 game, especially after streaming 4 old PS3 games recently via PS Plus (Arkham Origins, Resistance 3, Force Unleashed 1 & 2) which looked and played pretty atrocious, between horribly compressed graphics and motion mechanics that felt extremely unrefined, if not outright buggy. But, being remastered for the PS4, this one was available for full download and wow, it still holds up very well, not just in graphics but in its mechanics. Having a blast with it so far.

First platinum I've gone for in years. It was easy to plat, considering there's no multiplayer or coop trophies to earn. I did knock difficulty down to easy on the final boss fight though. It's a simple prompted fight, where you have a short time to hit the button that appears on the screen, but it felt like the timing was off, playing on the PS5, or maybe I just wasn't holding the buttons long enough. Not sure if easy was actually more forgiving, but between reading about making sure you hold the button for a second or two and setting it to easy, it was a breeze to beat.

I can see why people think it's better than FarCry 4. I liked it so much, I'm thinking about picking up a physical copy, as I don't expect to renew PS+ premium for another year. I mainly wanted it for streaming PS3 games, but the quality of PS3 streaming is absolutely horrible. I'm convinced they look and play better from a disc using an actual PS3 console, and not just the compression, the graphics themselves look like they were downsampled something awful. That or 200-250mbs (tethered) isn't a fast enough connection for streaming games in half decent quality.

The only thing I hated in FarCry 3 was the driving; the entire game was like steering on ice, then I'd finally get going straight and hit something I couldn't even see and do a 180. It was hilarious how even the NPCs are constantly driving off bridges or otherwise wrecking their vehicles. Worst driving mechanics I've ever seen, at least adapted to a PS5, which a number of PS4 games I have don't play quite as well on the PS5. But at least you're not dependent on driving for most of the game.

You bought a subscription specifically to stream PS3 games? That certainly doesn't fit the anti-digital stance that you prescribe in your signature and avatar.

I subscribed for multiplayer. I upgraded to premium this year only because it was discounted last BF, and streaming via their premium tier is the only way I can revisit some PS3 games I used to love, despite still having physical copies of, but can't play because our PS3 hasn't worked in years and the PS5 is only backward compatible for last gen.

This was probably the last far cry game i liked and enjoyed, i actually have completed the game and got all the achievements for it…i can’t see myself doing that all over again ha.
