That was news on the main page yesterday, but thanks anyway. Here's hoping you can find something else.

Oh didn't know. I actually rarely ever check the front page

(I actually got excited when I saw a listing, thinking other Oct. stuff leaked, but so far nothing. Still on the prowl though.)

OK, so now we're expecting October announcements from both Shout and Arrow. Needless to say, the Halloween season is an important one for the horror community so let's get some halfway decent titles released. An underwhelming October kind of sets the stage for the months following so the month needs to be big. First up is yet another steelbook reissue but I'm not worried yet.

Does anyone have any links to Cliff discussing how ‘The Hitman (1991)’ with Chuck Norris isn’t going to happen because of no 35mm film elements being available?

That quote was from the member cmac, aka Cliff MacMillan, formally a producer and in acquisitions for SF. Now currently with Arrow.

The response was in the Arrow thread where someone was begging Arrow to release Hellbound and Hitman on Blu-ray because Shout "wouldn't do it."

That person was me I really hope we get them eventually even if it’s just HD upscales I’ll take it they just deserve better than being stuck on DVD. So I hope things change so these titles finally get Blu-Ray releases. I have a strong feeling it’ll be from WAC now since Shout! Factory, and Arrow Video cannot do it. Unless a brand new boutique label comes into play, and has a deal with Warner Bros. which could happen as we’re seeing new boutique labels pop up now quite a bit lately.

On the other hand a manageable collection of a couple hundred of titles is really the true ideal goal, but what if I slimmed down the collection to what I think are my essentials, sold a bunch of stuff and decided that I want to watch title X, but I sold it and now it is now OOP and fetching $$$ on the second hand market.
When I was younger I was more to have as much as possible. I bought so many vinyl, laserdisc, DVDs, vhs I could. A big collection was the goal.
But the older I get, the more I feel that the collection should be movies I really like and watch.
So for the past...maybe 10 year, I have tried to only buy movies I want to see and I sell all that I don't think I will see again. But it is hard sometimes, because it is also fun to buy movies and just to go online and buy something is intoxicated. Some movies or releases is just fun to own, especially tapes. So I do have some few guilty pleasure.

Aging is another reason that I am starting to really cut back on buying things. I remember Grady Hendrix talking about helping to clear out the collection of a friend that had recently died and I don't really want to have a bunch of stuff left for others to deal with.

Not going to lie, sometimes FOMO does hit me and I buy something that I probably shouldn't buy (ninja terminator limited edition), but I know in terms of upgrading to UHDs I am trying to keep it limited to my top 10-15 favorite filmmakers and a handful of favorites that fall outside those filmmakers.

I don't have every Scream Factory release, but my collection looks pretty danged similar to the pic, except add in most of their non-slipped releases too. It's not because I'm a completest, I can live comfortably without Sword & The Sorcerer and the Robocop remake, thank you. It's because these are the movies I was raised on. Most of what Scream has released are the heavy hitters and the movies I'd want to go back to.

Funnier when someone has the entire Criterion Collection. Definitely impressive, but I bet they dislike at least 25% of them.
While you're probably right that this collector most likely doesn't like every single movie in this collection it wouldn't surprise me if they liked 75-80% of it. Just taking a quick glance there's a lot of good movies (imo) on that shelf.

At least it's not a subscription service where you pre-buy every title without knowing what most of them will even be. Who'd be crazy enough to sign up for that?
I subbed to vs for a year without knowing what i would get.
But this year is a drag last time i do something like that.
But if scream would do this sub to it great quality movies but alas they don't ship overseas.

I'd sub if they added this note:
"Are you tired of scratched and unplayable discs? Good news! As a member of S.C.U.M. (Shout Club User Members) you are guaranteed no more than two scratches of one inch or less. But that's not all! The scratches are personally placed by us on the disc surface to hopefully not impede playback in anyway. Fear not! If the disc still doesn't play we will end your membership without notice or refund and you will no longer have to worry about scratched discs because you, and your, family will be banned from purchasing our products!"

This is it for me. I don't love every movie in my collection, but I like having them around if the mood strikes.... sometimes I'll be listening to a podcast and they talk about a movie I remember not liking that much.. or just a movie I haven't seen in a long time and feel like re-visiting. I love that I can just pull it off the shelf and watch it.

i think The Guest would be an awesome 4K Collector's Edition for Scream Factory. The Second Sight release in the UK is great but I would still prefer a nice release in the states. It's a fun movie that can be described as a mix of Halloween 3 and The Terminator. Perfect for the Scream Factory brand! With Dan Stevens really growing in popularity, this is the perfect opportunity to license the film from Universal. Release it with an alternate slipcover, a vinyle, steelbook option, two posters, and a "David" NECA figure. And if they have time, they can give the same treatment to Black Christmas (2006)!

I'd ruffle so many feathers if I posted pics of mine. I toss all slipcovers that aren't thick ones, and most of my collection are in binders (though they are fancy binders).
