Yeah no thanks. I've been considering a new truck and have (or had) the Ford Lightning on my short-list. Day to day driving numbers look good, but once you start towing... yeah, I can't do it. We take long road trips, and a lot of places we go out in the boonies have no charging stations, and any charging stops on the way are minimal. No way am I going to get stuck somewhere waiting for a charge in unfavorable weather.

EV Cars are just not ready at all, they will not be replacing ice anytime soon regardless of what the current day central planners have to say.

There are many nice electric vehicles, and for many people they work great. For me personally, I could make one work but there's definitely the occasion where it'd be an inconvenience and a car shouldn't be an inconvenience unless it's due to something I have an emotional attachment to (e.g. a coupe that is a little less practical than a sedan but I love the look). And I prefer the sound and character of an engine, not electric motors, so really no point to change over yet. Some people are really passionate about EVs, however, and I am glad that they have a form of vehicle that excites them.

EVs have a real cost issue though. There aren't very many that are affordable, and some of the better-known affordable models like the Bolt and Leaf are scheduled for discontinuation. In fact, I know crossovers and pickups are where things are headed, but there are still a ton of sedans sold in the US.....and only two EV sedans at the moment can be obtained with an MSRP below $50,000. Two. And even at 40K-ish for the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 6, you aren't exactly getting great combination of power and range.

My Maxima's sticker was in the neighborhood of 40K and yet even if I spend another 10 grand to switch to an EV sedan I really don't gain much in features or performance. But 50K would get me a pretty nice gas-powered sedan. EVs just aren't adding up (yet?) for me beyond the seriously cool but seriously expensive hardware like the Lucid Air or Audi e-Tron GT.

Default 2022 C8 Stingray

Found a great deal on a 2022 3LT C8 Stingray with the Z51 package that I couldn't pass up. It's Ceramic Matrix Gray (yes, I know it looks kind of white in some lighting) with some yellow and carbon flash accents. The previous owner traded it in with only 2,200 miles on it due to never having the time to drive it. His loss, my gain.

I wasn't feeling the machined edge on the stock wheels, so I had some Vossen HF-2 installed last weekend. I kept the stock 19x8.5" front and 20x11" rear sizes though. Didn't see the point in having to buy new tires since these had less than 3k miles on them.

Very nice. 2k miles is definitely “new” IMO. They’re growing on me even though Chevy/GM went for the exotic look.
