What happened there was horrific. And the response was misguided and ineffective.

Like when Philly fans their own city because their team won the SB. The truth is there are some empty heads and a lot of people who aren't good at alcohol.

Are we going to make it ? I don't know, but I'm limited in not only what I can do but what I'm still willing to do.

For me it is more than that Hollywood might be well known but every country has its own movie and TV industry. It opens up the world of so much content you would otherwise never have access to. It might be a bit different with region 2 DVDC in the UK encompassed all of Europe and a few other countries, But here in Canada it limited us to region 1 (i.e. US and Canada) so local and Hollywood.

With BD itt was not as bad A= Americas and a bit of Asia

but still not the whole world. There is a lot of good UK, Ireland, France, Australia... content that I can easily understand but would not have access to without a region free player.

Don't get me wrong there is the occasional " film was released in a better way in some other part of the world" and that is a nice bonus that we can buy them. But for me the real reason is there is so much internati9onal content that would otherwise not be available in my region.

I think the issue is some bad elements use the chaos to their advantage and then things escalate.

Speaking from experience, you are 100% right. St Louis has had its history of protests, some peaceful, and some not peaceful at all. While I managed an Apple Store in town, we had our share of protests come through the mall, and always with cameras rolling. We went through training on how to handle these since they seemed to be a weekly thing at one point, and during that training, we learned that certain groups will drive to the location just to light a match to the powder keg and to cause disruption. They don’t even necessarily have to agree with the cause, but more so look for an opportunity to incite a riot or disturbance to capitalize in one way or another.

My store was actually a target one time where the 100 or so protesters were planning on coming in to take over my store and to potentially steal product. I sensed something was happening when I noticed a small group outside the store gathering and then start to grow in size. I approached one of them to see it they needed any help, and the guy couldn’t even look me in the eye. I closed my doors with customers inside just as the larger group showed up with cameras rolling. The police told me that I did the right thing as the group did not plan to be peaceful.

I received this today for free by using some of my Disney Reward points:

This is not a movie that I would have bought, but I will give it a chance as a freebie.

The movie selections at Disney Movie Insiders have been rather for a long time now, so much so that I have been using reward points to get Funko Pops instead.

Sadly, riots have broke out across the country today. Hull, Stoke, Blackburn, Nottingham and Liverpool adding to the growing list.

I really don't understand. I guess it's simple people jumping at the chance to live in a PURGE movie.

.... not great.

Good golly- I looked it up and it makes no sense at all.

Just to add fuel to the fire, Muslim groups now forming with reports of them carrying weapons. It’s a scary time in UK mate.

It's a sad state of affairs to be sure...but I can't blame them if that's what they feel they need to do to feel safe...

I don't believe that guns have any place in a civilized society, but I would definitely own one if I lived in the U.S...

I live in the U.S. and wish nobody owned a gun. The amount of deaths due to firearms here is out of control and the country is too corrupt to enact any sensible laws.

Be careful not to stray into politics, guys. That's taboo here.

I certainly hope that order is restored in the U.K. soon.
