Die Hard (1988) v License to Kill (1989)

The two relatively hard core action films that share the music director, many members of the cast, etc. One film was widely appreciated at the time of its release while the other slowly & steadily gained following over the years. In both films, the lead character is invited to an event where his path crosses with the villain’s.

Die Hard has a memorable performance from Alan Rickman (Bruce Willis is playing Bruce Willis), while License to Kill has Timothy Dalton firing all cylinders as a rogue agent.

For whatever reasons, which film do you prefer more?

Gone with LTK as it has a higher repeat value for me.

No issues as both are excellent films. LTK has a relatively higher repeat value for me because of the pre title sequence (Bond goes fishing), Bond steals the plane, the truck chase.

Mission Impossible 6 appears to have redone many of LTK’s sequences where Sanchez’s escape is similar to Lane’s escape in Paris (Seine). The truck chase turns into the helicopter chase.

Both are great films but Die Hard is the film that I have watched more so voted for that.

LTK is one of my favorite Bond movies, but it still isn't Die Hard.
