Want this but want to pair it with another steelbook. Wish that Strangers steelbook was a little lower.

Agreed. Would have made more sense if this was one of the many late 4K releases Universal has done, I’d complain but at least then it would be a disc upgrade. That we already got that at release makes this an easy pass. I do like the design though, maybe if it doesn’t sell I’ll consider it at some sale price later.

I'm not sure if the previous release lines up with when walmart took over from best buy on the steelbon releases.

But it seems like they're either going through the catalog and picking stuff that they would have done and giving it their spin, or someone is telling them to fill the gaps in their offerings.

Eventually, I hope they get to the stuff that no one has done yet.

It's happened a bit, but maybe this blend of re-releases and new offerings is a good model for them. Who knows.

I think what they meant is it does seem like a handful of titles from just prior to the essentially Best Buy to Walmart handover seemed to not get SteelBooks from studios that normally would have done one, like their was a short gap as they shifted things between the two retailers, and now some of those are being revisited for that reason to get their due.

To be fair their were other Universal films that didn't get steelbooks upon initial release when best buy still offered steelbooks too like MEGAN and Violent Night.

This has nothing to do with Best Buy. Its simply part of a Halloween rollout from Universal worldwide. It's also coming out in other countries internationally, same with the Halloween Trilogy Steelbook.

Yeah there seems to be an increasing trend in releasing bare-bones (packaging) releases then special ones not even a year later... This is just not one they'll get me on this time

This is why I only buy a bluray version of a film if a steelbook isn't announced on release. More reason to buy again if I'm upgrading format as well.

Hence my hoping that Lisa Frankenstein will get a 4K steelbook at some point, too. But I feel it should have been announced by now.

My point was that walmart wasn't cranking out steels like they are now when this went into production. Since this fell into that time where best buy was nearly done announcing new stuff (which probably why this and others got passed on), but the walmart machine hadn't kicked into overdrive yet.
