just bumping this to note that this spiked in price on the secondary for some reason. I thought it was due to the Romulus trailer but it actually spiked months ago. Debating putting mine up as I was never crazy about the artwork and I imagine there will be 50th anniversary release in five years.

It would have been nice if Aliens got a 4K steelbook release with the new transfer that came out.

It’s a beautiful looking Steelbook. I wish I went for it as my slipcover is losing its finish.

Fox titles (now Disney) don't get reprints. If anything new artwork at some point. With Romulus coming out in a couple of months, its possible but I think we would have heard by now but really unlikely with the handoff of production/distribution from Disney to Sony.
Again, likeliest scenario would be a 50th Anniversary edition in five years.

Was very curious about the steel book since Alien: Romulus came out. It’s currently going for insane prices. Currently on eBay, it goes for $102 to $299.99. (Depending on whether you bid on it, or outright buy it) Very happy that I kept this one sealed, and in my collection.

That’s funny considering for like the last 6 months before BB screwed the physical media customers, Alien the Steelbook along with Alien Covenant Steelbook were $12.99 (Alien came and went out of stock a couple times so I don’t know if they just kept finding large quantities at store locations or reprints or Canadian stock shifts.

It spiked cuz scalpers wanted to get rid of their abundance of inventory. See what they do is put it up for auction and bid it up themselves or with help from other scalpers. Making the public think it’s valued. They keep repeating this until a real buyer wins. Then they just put it up as a buy now for around that winning price. It’s why you don’t see regular people putting it up for auction cuz if they did they would only get $40 and be like “wtf?”
