I don't think that can be taken to mean anything in production terms given that Mubi shrinkwrap the case and then put the slip on (rather than having the slip under the wrap also). This means it could have no slip because it fell off and no-one noticed; it got banged up and binned for being in awful condition; or it was there but a customer played silly beggars; or quite a few other possibilities not worth iterating.
Certainly I've seen examples in the not too distant past of HMV having a bunch of Mubi films racked together or on end displays for promotion and it being 50/50 slip/no slip on the cases. |
