To someone from my area (south eastern Louisiana) a category 2 is nothing.

I've actually sat on my front porch through a category 1
I love the weather on the outer edges of weak hurricanes and tropical storms/depressions
Very breezy and cool (for the south ) outside and (of course) very overcast.

But for those who aren't used to dealing with these things, and doesn't have building codes and such based on having hurricanes in mind, a Cat 2 is more than enough to be worried about.

Listen to everything robinandtami said and you'll be fine.

Man i couldn't imagine a Cat 3+... you guys are tough down there!
